Song 1: Ivy Lab x Two Fingers - Orange Clips from March 2021, Side note: I have some seriously scuffed combos in this video, very new to the class still so don't judge too harshly ♡
Thanks! :) Apologies in advance for the lengthy response! I enjoy both, but they fill different roles. From my experience, Sorc is more suitable for a flank/assassin team which distracts and/or takes out key targets (like fort rebuilds, rangers in the back, etc). I played this role for a long time on DK and again later on Sorc, as that playstyle has always appealed to me. Once Nova came out I tried it for the season and ended up loving the look and feel of succession. I started bringing it to wars to try out, and found I really enjoyed playing with the main ball, and directly pushing the enemy. The survivability definitely isn't as strong as sorc (though no class is), but the attacks are much more protected as she has a lot of SA's. The block feels like a real block/tank should and it's generally enough for me to survive a few pushes. It's also refreshing to have a fair bit of utility that I can bring to the team comp (freezes, ice wall, pawns that cc). I don't expect to top the charts, but I know the class is still valuable as you will debuff the enemy's attack power, apply dots and generally set up for team by dealing a lot of damage in the process (the aoe's are pretty big!) In short, think about what role you would enjoy in node wars and try out the class that's more suitable to that role. Just give it a few weeks fair shot, as every war is different.
@@Lyantha im actually really happy you gave me such a lengthy reply -- i really wanna try succ sorc, her aesthetics and outfits are all beautiful. but im scared that shes gonna be a bit too hard for me. but your montages are inspiring.
A lot of fun! Ice wall is a really cool mechanic and it feels awesome to pull it off and catch a bunch of people. I'm finding she excels in places where there are choke points on the map (ex. Castle, fort against natural structures, etc) as the mobility/range of skills is less of an issue there compared to open field. She has a lot of super armors to rotate so I rarely get cc'd, and the block gives you a 50+ dp buff that lingers for 10sec. Weaving in block between skills will help you survive through SA. I can't say what it will feel like with that gear, but it's definitely worth a shot to try it out for a few wars :)
Ahh let me help explain the mechanic for Axian (big bat demon). Once he is summoned, he lasts for 1 hour and will appear as a small little blue/white orb that follows your character. When you use an attack which commands Axian to attack, you will then (and only then) see him come out of his orb form and into the big batty boy we know and love. Axian is summoned from guard stance either by using s+e (my favourite method) or by using shift+space (note this has a medium-sized cooldown and its too easy to un-summon him by mistake). I wish they made it so he was walking around all the time, but I could see that also causing a lot of visual clutter (just like when there are a lot of witch/wiz with pets out, it adds a lot of 'bodies').
I'd say its average, not a top grinder but its also not bad either. Its a very 'chill' grind (no pun intended) that's easier on the fingers than many other classes I've tried (especially in comparison to awakening, which is one of the top grinding specs). She has a lot of SA's which help with mobs that like to CC, however the big succession summon (Axian) consumes HP on some skills, so grinding in some higher level places where you take damage, you may find you have a challenge keeping up with your HP. I have an infinite potion, so I honestly dont notice this at all, however an easy way to get around it is to just use a draught with hp regen on hit (ex. Frenzy), as you'll burn through a lot of HP pots otherwise. My nova is now my main grinder for places like Hadum, and she grinds just as well as my sorc.
@@buzzmojo7928 Yep! With the recent PVE buffs too its slightly better as well, as we got some damage buffs for PVE. That said, mobility is slightly worse as they fixed a bug with our shield charge :( Still, its a solid class for grinding overall and I still recommend trying it if it looks interesting. You can always try tagging it to see!
Thanks! Still new to the class myself, but one of my fav combos to use is shift+rmb > lmb > lmb > shift+q > shift+f (not sure if it's a good one, but it flows nice). Definitely recommend checking out the nova discord for more though :)
