The NovaBlast 3 from Asics has had a lot of attention in recent years. Now in its third iteration, sporting a new Flyte Foam Plus Blast midsole, is this maximalist, and dare I say it, very sexy looking shoe, one of the best daily trainers? In this video, I put these road shoes through their paces and give you my honest first impressions whilst on a tempo run.

these shoes are a perfect fit for you with the colour and the other Vegan runners just like you said. i was looking for an everyday running shoe and i got the Nike Pegasus 38s but i feel like these would be great too.

FlyteFoamBlast+ are the best 2 shoes of my 8 shoes, made 4 or 5 PBs with them in the past 8 days since I quit smoking, best shoes ever.

I have the trail version! I cannot compare to the non trail version as never ran in it but can tell you it is still a great cushioned trainer with better grip. It is NOT a hard core trail shoe ; it is very much a hybrid perfect for light or smoother trails or road to light trail. The shoe is too unstable for real tricky trails and lots of unprotected foam and same road upper so not designed for real hard trail running. I live in a winter rainy climate and use gravel road style trails for lots of my training and it is perfect for this .

Each to their own but I personally really didn’t get on with this shoe. Felt heavy, clunky, saps your energy and doesn’t seem to absorb impact. Got the Hoka Mach 5s and love them, haven’t ran in the Novas since… At least they look good though 😂

Fair enough! It’s always good to hear a differing opinion. I think because I’ve been wearing the Glycerin 20, which truly is big and clunky, this much lighter shoe feels dreamy. I’ve noticed I’m running faster at the same effort level in these shoes and feel a good pop out of them. Need to try the next Mach - heard good things 👍
