What's even crazier is no matter what video or how amazing the quality of the video I've yet to find one that does it justice. When recording it in a DAW you can get the awesomeness, but for some reason even Novation videos dont do it any justice. Unbelievable the sound you get from this
Well, I own the UltraNova, but this machine is SO far beyond my skill sets that I won't live long enough to ever need one . . . thanks Mike, you're amazing!
The intro reminds me of a succession of interdimensional witches, about to cast time compression and obliterate mankind. Then it goes into a funky synth patch after that and everything is cool again. Thank you for the journey. ..
FINALLY!! someone with proper pedagogical technique at a keyboard instrument! Right on man :) wonderful ideas and use of the technique as well. I will subscribe due to this show of artistry. Beautiful instrument! Thank you for your presentation! JZ
Absolutely Jens, it's the best of both worlds! Here's the latest demo I put together featuring the Summit - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t8zygUVJCCI.html
Tbf it’s the best playing demo I’ve seen for ANY product. Generally synth demos are either simple white keys only jams, or tasteless shred. Mike plays according to what the patch tells him to do, and it’s awesome.
Amazing performance! It really give much out of the synth! This is exactly the kind of demo that makes me want to buy the instrument while just enjoying listening to it.
@@Angelowalker. I gave my life to Jesus 40 years ago. Nothing better in life than to know The Creator of the universe, and my soul! God bless, my friend!
Sounds like a really versatile synth! That last patch had that d-50 late 80s vibe I’m looking for, In addition to so many different vibes. Also, Mike has crazy chops
Thanks Little Fields! I just put together a new track featuring the Summit if you'd like to check it out - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t8zygUVJCCI.html
Majestic is a great way to describe it! Here's the latest track I put together featuring the Summit: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t8zygUVJCCI.html
I love the Novation Summit! I made an antire song mostly with sounds from Summit and Peak. I also like to chage the settings along the track evolving...
Big sound in a sleek silhouette! The form factor is intriguing, the flatness is very attractive to me. The sound would take too long to describe accurately, I just really like it. It feels approachable and flexible.
Holy smokes I was convinced, that with enough work and effort, I could get a Hydrosynth to sound like a true analog poly synth, I haven’t bought a Hydrasynth yet, but am close. I put on my headphones and listen to the summit and kudos on your PLAYING on the summit, I just immediately thought: THERE IS THE SOUND! Crap… So now I’m depressed. When you get a sec, could you play those notes, just the way you played them, but on the Hydrosynth? Oh…I SEE you do have a Hydrosynth video! Coolio. I’m jumping ahead, but in SONIC PROWESS, I’ll bet YOU THINK Summit wins. Amazing job, Buddy!❤ What a Grand A/B this will be for me!
The Novation Peak Innovations Summit have the best on-board Reverb for a synthesizer that I've ever heard no other since I've used since telling my Peak has a Reverb that is half as good
Waw... just .. waw ! Great playing. The Summit has very delicate keys, it's not easy to play THAT clean on the instrument. Very beautiful pieces that are played. Music heaven ...
@@MikePensini You're welcome. Should you read this, have you got any artist or teacher you can recommend for learning the tools of the trade of playing or creating 80s music ? I'm interested in the structure of the composing.. Grts.
Love that game, level and track! Perhaps that was a subconscious influence haha! I just put together a new track featuring the summit if you'd like to check it out, G Soubi - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t8zygUVJCCI.html

The passage starting at 2:47 hella reminds me of disasterpeace’s hyper light drifter but with added color and narrative. Beautiful playing and voicing. Glad I was able to find your performance
What a huge difference it makes hearing a synth demoed in capable musical context vs. yet another yawner saying here’s a saw wave and diddling the filter knob. Thanks for this.
By the way mate, if you'd like to check out the latest track I put together with the Summit, you can check it out here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t8zygUVJCCI.html
Newly bought this monster machine! I can´t find the presets that´s been demonstrated hin this vid, not at least at the same memory locations on my Summit? Are they to be find on a webpage for downloading? - love the sounds and the way Mike Pensini brilliantly demonstrates them!
I just bought a used one from an online store because there are no new ones left anywhere... hope it's not screwed up in any way. This is an incredible sounding synth.
They are still being sold new from Navation so not sure why you couldn't find one however nothing wrong with used, I just bought a used Peak from cash converters £800.
Sold my Peak. Ordered a Summit. Need to wait 4 weeks....aaaargggh. Summit is (alongside the UDO6) clearly a top synth and a good investment. The only critics I have is : Why no digital output ?? (since I want to use Summit a soundsource for my V-synth XT)
il Novation Summit sarebbe la versione tastiera del Novation Peak? Sono uguali? Ho letto però su vari forum che Peak ha non pochi problemi e che, abbia un soffio di fondo antipatico.
I've listen many many demos on this synth on RU-vid. Seems like the vast majority of the patches are just big phat paddish/ambient/atmospheric/brashish type of sounds. If you just focus on the Analog waveforms (saw/sine/square/triangle), is this synth capable of creating famous Prophet/OB/Moog patches? What about oscillator sync patches...The Cars "Let's Go" sync patch? Rush's "Tom Sawyer"? Styx's "Angry Young Man"? ELP "Lucky Man"? Genesis's "ABACAB" etc. etc.... I've yet to hear anyone playing lead-solos on this synth.
It really nails the sound of both of those hey?! I just put a new demo up at: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t8zygUVJCCI.html if you want to check it out!
@@MikePensini The sound you play at 2:50 sounds a bit like the pad at the beginning of Mezzoforte's Garden Party! This synth is so incredibly versatile!
Thank you Transient Scale! It's just an improvisation of my own creation. If you'd like to check out the latest Summit demo, you can find it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t8zygUVJCCI.html

I ordered a Hydrasynth instead - which is also delayed, but not that much. It has some drawbacks compared to the Summit, but all in all it is the more interesting synth - and significantly cheaper.
