Great, GREAT, presentation as usual. One of my favorite reviewers on RU-vid for sure. I have the K station and the KS-4 and haven't really taken Ultra Nova that seriously, but your presentation here gives me a very compelling reason to give it serious consideration - especially at the current price point, which seems to be dropping considerably.

This guy has the BEST demo vids on RU-vid. I already own the Ultranova, but I wanted to see what he could do with it (I've had mine for two months and didn't even think about the +/- buttons LOL). His Blofeld demo is also great. But now I want that synth too! Ultranova is a fun VA synth. Ignore the haters and go play one. You're hopefully going to make your own sounds with it anyway. peace

The only good demo of the utranova out there. Mr UJIIE is one of my favorite demonstrators/reviewers. Unlike many other demoers out ther, he knows what hes doing and can actually play (very well too). He's also an excellent communicator, and has charisma.

The best Ultranova demo video I've seen & I don't even understand Japanese! So much more in-depth + he can actually play a keyboard instead of just modulating one damn note for 5mins :-) Novation I hope you're paying attention....

I've watched some 3 hours of reviews and demos of this, but these 13mins were the most educative ones. The Sensei's enthusiasm also helps! Now I can't decide between the JD-XI or the Ultranova :( did you review the JD-XI as well??

There's one thing these Ultranova videos fail to point out: I had a chance to put my fingers on one briefly at my local Guitar Center and it feels very nice. Feel is subjective, I know, but I was very impressed.

I love this demo too, I own a Ultranova but learned something new too without speaking any word japanese !

Nice demo! Very digitally, inorganic sounds. It resembles to Dune2, Falcon, and so on. It is a hardware form of soft synth. Its sound is slightly outdated now, but it could become classic in future.

If you wait a week or two, the video will probably be reposted with [CC] in the name. That means it's been subtitled. Alot of his vids are already. Check out his Oberheim Matrix 12 review. That's pure passion in a few minutes. It also has a CC version, where you can click the little CC button next to 360p to get subtitles. Don't really have to know japanese to know what he's saying since he points and use English terms alot. But it's nice to have the subs, sure.

is sounds great for its price and is great for beginners and peoiple who cant afford a more expendable synth

This synth is close to as good as it gets as far as analog modeling goes. Its digital but I feel that it makes up for that in its features. I use the "touch" function on mine all the time!

Amazing as always! The enthusiasm you have is absolutely infectious, the performance and demonstration skill, legendary! The synth itself- depressing to see novation is still using that horrible LCD style and backlight style. UI layout and controls look good otherwise though.

When you disable the FX engine, how impress is the sound then?

I have a virus ti, microQ and yamaha tx81z and all of them are usefull in one way or another but this one sounds like a softssynth.

This guy gives the best demos and I always consider his demos like..."the final word" on the subject. But honestly I've owned a few Novation products and I think their other synths sound better than this one and are more professional.

Dear UJIIE !!! Ultranova can NOT work as midi interface !!! It only can send ITS OWN midi messages to midi ports or to the usb port, but it CAN NOT for example receive midi from midi in and transmit it to PC via USB.

well, if a japanese muscician talks about it, i must have it! XD

the pitch bend wheel is horrible, the response is very late and inacuurate soi not possible to play percise leads using it....other than that great but that one flaw stops me from buying it.

This thing is actually a step backwards from Novations previous synths IMHO. It doesn't sound as good as the supernova or the keystations to me and it is only monotimbral.

I actually didn't mind chuckie's demo lol. but to be honest I think Wolfgang gartner should advertise a synth. He is far more talented.

why not ultranova ? mininova's keyboard is awful !
