My father sent this to me🥹 He always sends me music when he isn’t able to express a certain feeling to me with words. Used to always play it in the car growing up. God bless him❤
When I hear about how this music is written for people's loss, hope, desperation, and family it makes me understand metal more. The religious quacks think this music is just about the occult and Satan. They just do not get it. I get how this music touches people. It has touched me. I'm going to start a Doom metal band.
Cool to hear that you guys are actually sitting down trying to learn this song! One of these days if you'd like I can put up a video of myself playing it so you can see how I do it. As you can see the chord positions aren't hard, pretty basic, the trick is just getting some of the right hand picking correct.
So, RU-vid decided to recommend this to me after 12 years. Well, better late than never, I guess, else I'd have slept on this gem. This is amazing. Thank you, RU-vid Algorithm!
"Someday you'll be on your own Memories will make you smile Think back to those dreams To remember me" This makes me think the song is about his daughter rather than a lover. Though I could easily be mistaken. Either way, it's great.
It is! It is about a dad who drowned and is now watching over his daughter from the afterlife and his connection to this world is slowly diminishing, thus the lyrics: "Someday, you'll be on your own.". Also this is more speculation but I like to think that he also saves her in the lyrics "I'll be the one who pulls you free.". Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
@@summersrain_2824 What makes you think it's about "a dad who drowned". It's nowhere specified. It's just a song from a father to a daughter. Nothing to do with drowning.
Paul, I do not know if you will read this. Years ago, I interviews you for an online magazine. It unfortunately was never published, no fault of mine, but I will never forget your warmth and genuine heart. You are an incredible human being, thank you for existing.
This song really started hitting home once I became a dad. I have one of each. 12 years after this album came out, 10 after my son was born, 4 since my daughter, and still it makes me tear up.
@arlineku I'm so sorry to hear that, I asoulutley love November's Doom's music. This song and Autumn Reflection are two of the most heartfelt songs I've ever heard and so touching. I also struggle with degenerated disc disease and have to live with continuous muscle spasms. I hope to see him continue writing fantastic music and lyrics and make a full recovery, stay strong and blessing to ND and your entire family!
My girlfriend showed me this song And after month she decided to leave me 😢 This beautiful song makes me remember our happiest days together But it also helps to come to terms with the fact that she is not with me I hope she's happy
I agree with you because they are MY favourite band too, and they have excellent slower songs, but I just have to add that even their heavier songs tend to be about the struggles of fatherhood which is just beautiful.
Its always comforting when bands like this put out an accoustic song or two. It spits in the nay sayers face that say doom and death metal bands know nothing of carrying a tune or know how to play their instruments.
menú Twilight Innocence Novembers Doom I wonder what she dreams about Perhaps my arms that hold her tight All the love that warms her heart Peaceful sleep till dawns new day I will always keep watch over you To keep you safe when you are scared Before her sleep she lies awake With wonder and angelic thoughts So much to learn in one lifetime Hand in hand we'll walk for hours When the water becomes too deep I'll be the one who pulls you free Your dreams inspire me To be the best man I can be To never let you down And make you proud of me Someday you'll be on your own Memories will make you smile Think back to those dreams To remember me I wonder what she dreams about Perhaps my arms that hold her tight All the love that warms her heart Peaceful sleep till dawns new day I will always keep watch over you To keep you safe when you are scared
This is Amazing. Great Voice. Positive and Strengthening. Voluptuous and Visceral. Enduring and Eternal... If you need to vomit grab a bucket... Great Tune.
i'm really fine, thank you. I found some persons with so much calm and happiness inside... I have peace inside me right now. We are staying together day ang night, singins at the guitars, drinkin' wine and smoking cigarettes. You have no idea how happy i am right now. I cry every night and I thank to God for what He done to me. Thank you for asking TerrorCrow... Have a nice day!
yes this song is about his daughter . Talking with Paul for a long while and now the story. Also as KendrickMan says there is a book which he written about the behind the lyric stories.
@NakedShooter For sure. I haven't cried in quite a while, but when he got to "Your dreams inspire me...", the rest of that verse launched me into a full-blown cry session. I don't know why. I suppose it's just because it's so heartfelt, an expression of true paternal love.
