The most surprising thing was that over a dozen people, who didn't know each other, played in perfect time. This also thanks the "granpa" drummer who rocks better than many young people 👍
It's so heartwarming to see all of you lovely people who turn up in New York for John Lennon and just watching how much love there is for John and the Beatles and for each other. Thank You So Much. All You Need Is Love from the UK 👏✌️🙏♥️
@@Professorkenneth wonderful to be able to see the videos of the vigil for John on the 8th. Hard to believe its 43 years. All that talent and integrity wiped out by a gratuitous act of violence.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. The song, the setting, the situation sad as it is, and the people. Thank you for this. Love from Ireland. John's not gone - forgive me my trespasses into cliché territory - when people get together and listen to The Beatles and John's work, or do so on their own. Love to all those who read this.
John , como tantos otros músicos seguirá vivo en cada un de nosotros al escuchar sus canciones . Y su legado , continuará transmitiendo de generación en generación 😢
This is beautiful, blacks and whites and almost every nationally paying tribute to JOHN LENNON singing his "new" song at strawberry fields memorial park.John would've been proud somewhere,he is smiling brardly❤.
OMG!!!! NYC holding it down on December 8th, 2023!!! Thank you. MY HOMETOWN. ALWAYS in my HEART. I'm in Florida right now but used to go every year on John's Bday and day of his passing. I know what it feels like to be there in person. All walks of life, all ages - so gorgeous!!!!! Thank you!!!
Yes, I remember that night now more than 43 years ago, when my sister had her boyfriend drive all of us to the Dakota Apartments. Just hours after the news broke, I could not believe the amount of people the had gathered, remaining through the night. In all these years later it's so amazing how the love, presence and memories of John Lennon are always with us. Strawberry Field Forever 🕊
When I first heard the release of Now & Then, it reminded me of what was said to be John Lennon's last words to Paul McCartney during a visit to the Dakota Apartments - "Think about me every now and then old friend..." 🎸
I am so glad that New Yorker's still come together to celebrate John at his public memorial. If you have never been to Strawberry Fields in Central Park, go. It is a small but beautiful place where John's spirit hangs out, most likely.
@@Resgerr I have a friend from Liverpool. I hope to get there at some point. If it wasn't for the Fab Four, I wouldn't be a singer-songwriter, recording artist today. Thanks for your response! Take care.
i'm a newer fan, only 24 years old myself. Now And Then was of mythical status only a few years ago, something people would say in hushed whispers... "they tried it in the 90s and gave up" or "Paul wants to finish it someday" was the full extent of information we had on the song for so long, and it is CRAZY to me, sitting here right now, to think this is a new bona fide Beatles classic. Bravo!
The only thing that held Now and Then up was back in the 90’s the technology necessary to separate the piano from John’s voice. Didn’t really help that George called Now and Then rubbish because of that reason. Had George still been alive when they actually finished the song he probably would have continued working on it with McCartney, and Ringo.
Oui, quelle nostalgie....
What a wonderful resurrection of the Beatles this song is and it is John's song, the first of the Beatles to go... and now to come back. And what a tribute to him that he is remembered every year at Strawberry Fields in Central Park. What a tribute to the Beatles: they are still a part of us and they still can produce a song that is sooo Beatles.
Emotional. I'm from Liverpool so I've been to lots of places The Beatles played. My Dad used to see them all the time. Been the Cavern dozens of times. But I visited Strawberry Fields in Central Park and cried like a baby
Sending out a big hug to everyone there....beautiful rendition....everyone singing along, The boys would be proud....I actually have begun playing the song without choking up, after watching this, the tears are back..tears of joy, sadness, and thankfulness...God Bless...
Great tribute. I was there on october 9th 2020 during the peak in the covid 19 surge, the weather was sunny warm and 65 degrees. There was a smaller crowd than the one in the video, John lennon's songs were sung, people gathered closely together. I could feel the presence the kind loving down to earth spirit of John lennon.
A big thankyou to all you talented musicians paying such a fantastic tribute to John. I applaud you all👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Your version of Now And Then was spot on. Much love from The Costa Blanca Spain 💃🏼🇪🇦😘Happy Christmas To You All.🧑🏻🎄🎄🧑🏻🎄🎄🎶🎵🎼🎤🎸
