Hey Jon. Good job again. Really apreciate all the effort you put into these. Your enthusiasm really comes through when you're talking about something you really love. Cheers.
Spaghetti sounds like a "sequel" to a very old dexterity game, Mikado, where you try to pick sticks from a pile without moving other sticks. And no, we cannot look past the use of Comic Sans. It is an abomination.
Remember, I'm still running competitions to give away board games with my last two videos: - Hidden Movement Board Games Mega Review - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IDMhrux6wt8.html - The Dating Games: Episode 1 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JzsHIDw7adE.html
I love your channel because you don't normally promote complex games. I'm a serious gamer but I lean more towards the family style or light-mid weight Euro games. I feel like sometimes we're not viewed as real gamers, like we never go past the "gateway" stage, but those are what I enjoy playing, and most of my friends are non-gamers. If I can't explain a game to people in less than 3 minutes, it's not going to catch on. So GREAT choice of games this year!
Ronnie Lunn, I completely agree with you. I'd say my deepest games are probably Voyages of Marco Polo, Prodigals Club, Ulm etc. Happily a Euro, non conflict gamer.
+Ronnie Lunn I know exactly what you mean. My collection is 80% lighter games. I play a lot with new players and so have found myself playing those almost all the time, my big, heavy games rarely get played. I do resent the attitude some people have towards lighter games, but it's their problem. I play games so socialise, not to prove my mental capacity or stamina at sitting still. Plenty more lighter games coming up in future videos! :D
Ronnie Lunn It's fine to love lighter and complex games. I'm the sort of person who will be happy playing Tsuro and Mysterium one night and Rebellion the other. personally not a fan of most party games as they just tend not to be as much fun - but then I *dont* play games to socialise. I most definitely socialise to play games. 😀
I'll definitely get Capital... I'm just waiting a little to see if it gets a multilingual edition or localization. Oh well, meanwhile I'll paint some ping pong balls and play Spaghetti with my shoelaces :D Thanks for the suggestions
DX I want to play so many of the new games, but there are still tons of unplayed ones I already own XD Why are you showing me these new games? >:S Ah, I remember: Because when I see a new video from you I click it immediately :P Nice, quick, but thorough format :) (I like how you show the game(play) as well ^^ A real mini review! :D)
Hey, Jon (or John?) Great job! I really like these quick review videos. Plus, I can see that your taste in games is kind of similar to mine. I recommend you check out Kingdomino and Cottage Garden :)
Blast you and your reviews. *pulls out wallet* You're forcing my hand. Why doesn't my wife see it that way? Seriously though, excellent quick reviews that had me adding things to my wishlist / want to buy when it comes to America.
Dream Home should be available everywhere. The others are from smaller publishers so may not be widely available yet. I know that Capital and Spaghetti will be available in the UK soon, I expect other places too. When I Dream is being re-released this year from a bigger publisher.
