His entire story is just he unpopular he phone call he popular he inside dumpster and then he tries to kill a small blue child, barney and a furry Then he died
I can't tell if in the real world he's supposed to be the adware-infected email program or if he is literally the trash bin full of printed spam emails.
@@kennygamr Did I get your mad spot, bro, are you that low on IQ to attack me? There are still five more chapters but what guarantise us his gonna continue the game? Susie hasn't got the tiniest attention beside that meme, and honestly, looking at how she became so lively she is way better than a guy who keeps saying big shot and his backstory is just a computer. "Oh no, his company failed blah blah.."
Jevil strikes me as somewhat "at ease" with his corruption, whereas Spamton is clearly resentful and trying hard to get his "freedom." I like Spamton a lot as a tragic character
@@prometheanrebel3838 you just opened my brain juices up. What if each secret boss is a stage of grief. Jevil acceptance, spamton bargaining, and if it keeps goin in order the next one is depression. and since there are 5 stages of grief, and 5 days of school ( I know there are 7 chapters ), there must be 5 [[BIG SHOT]] fellas.
It also adds up since spamton is blatantly a bargaining character, and fits extremely well in that slot. But jevil is more loosely associated with acceptance, I guess its good to not be constantly so on the nose with them like spamton is lol.
Jevil has more or less accepted his reality and madness, and chooses to live in that madness. I wouldn't say it's on the nose exactly either, but a possible nod. Also, the stages of Grief, I think, are Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.
The amount of expression you give Spamton while he's on the phone and being tossed in the dumpster is amazing, and they way he punches the wall is super smooth.

this perfectly encapsulates his lore. He starts as just a spam and businessperson but then MIKE calls and he gets all the attention and fame, and then end up living in a GOODDAMN GARBAGE CAN
Huh, honestly I think he’s convinced me to watch it. I literally didn’t even get to the first boss fight when I watched it, i was so bored. I’m gunna watch it for really now thanks to this guy! :D
I can't get over how in the first half of the video Spamton looks like he's supposed to be this big broad-shouldered guy, but then 0:07 comes up and he's waddling around on stubby little toothpick legs

Imagine being a Spambot designed to only sell products and scam people, but also being self aware and actively hating every second of your actions. Then suddenly, you start getting phonecalls telling you how to make it big, then finally get to enjoy being able to fulfill your role, your purpose. Then being told out of nowhere "Your life is a lie. This entire world is fake lmao." Now your existance is even more worthless. Spamton is actually Sans levels of tragic.
I feel like sans is the most content with the fact that the world is fake and has no control over anything probably because he spent the most time around gaster due to him being his assistant and maybe his son I'm a little iffy with the whole gaster being sans and papyrus's dad since there isn't a lot of evidence supporting it though
Sans- Depression and willing ignorance to what's going on with his world and only puts care in for his brother. Willing to make a joke of things but hold himself together enough to be there for the one person he cares about. -Jevil Doesn't really care about anything at all and makes a joke about everything and is ok breaking the rules even more than sans is to have fun. -Spamton Lost his anchor entirely, he whole existence gone. He finally made it big and was doing great but then reality was revealed to him and he couldn't take it. He needed rules but he couldn't make his own and could only follow the strings which he now saw on his life. All three are tragic. One found his whole life was in someone elses hands, but held onto sanity for the sake of another. One found out reality wasn't real and decided to make a game of it and stretch his strings to bend the rules and have fun. The last? Saw reality and wanted to be completely free but couldn't break away no matter how hard he tried. And when someone finally cut the strings... He lost all control entirely. Real shame because you can't help but feel sad having to not only witness their tragic lives but often take part in continuing or ending their suffering.

It's the expression of someone who has just realised that they aren't such a [[BIG SHOT]] after all and that everyone is going to find out they're a fraud.
Virgin lore explainers: “spending 30 minutes to explain the backstory of a character” Chad animators: “literally explain the whole backstory in 15 seconds + make a sick animation for it”
We can already tell a lot from 15 seconds At the start we can tell spamton WAS a [BIG SHOT] encouraging Kris to be a [BIG SHOT] himself, we can tell because of the pop-up adds and how he grabbed Kris and pointing to the sky, like telling him to go higher. At the table, spamton told everyone "I WILL become a [BIG SHOT] one-day" but sadly he failed, so he had to call someone "gaster maybe" for he can finally be the [BIG SHOT] he wanted to be. And at the end we can see how spamton finally become a [BIG SHOT] getting luxuries he dreamed of, getting recognition he wanted but, in the end all good things come to an end. Spamton gotten a call from "gaster maybe" and he ran mid call, the game proves this. And so in the end spamton lost everything fame, fortune, and a place to live, finding himself in the dumpster the [BIG SHOT] everyone loved became thrown away like garbage. And this proves how spamton is a great example of shortcuts are going to screw you in the end.
@@linkach8898 in my mind gaster is for all we know giving the calls, if not gaster who? Could it be another antagonist we don't know about, controlling and giving the calls? The secret boss fights *jevil & spamton* both of them we're possibly controlled by gaster, but until then my theory is that *possibly* every secret boss is being controlled by gaster, a new unheard antagonist, or another player *like you said* . Either way we'll have to wait until chapter 3 to prove either our theory's wrong
@@tvgaming2132 my personal guess is they aren't controlled by gaster, but the information they receive from him is much like us humans interacting with eldritch beings, the forbidden knowledge is too much and drives them mad, as the deltarune world and the undertale world lie in the same world, but separate universes, meaning Gaster would exist in Deltarune just as much as he does Undertale, and can see and experience all things at once given his condition, so any knowledge he possesses, past, present, future, or whatever is forbidden knowledge. That along with anything he says about other worlds, basically, anything he can tell you about anywhwre else outside that particular universe is forbidden, and could cause problems for those told.
I don't know if it's a coincidence or not that Spamton has the perfect haircut for the "Smarmy dealer in trouble on the phone" hair rub, bc that's such a specific movement, but it fits his character so well
This animation truly is a [big shot], You've earned yourself a subscriber, [Free Kromer] and the [Hyperlink Blocked] to be a [Big Shot] Someday (for me Hyperlink Blocked means power, because both Kris and Spamton want to be powerful, and if you play the snograve route then it makes even more sense for Hyperlink Blocked to be power (I won't talk about the snowgrave route because then I would be getting to spoiler territory))
Personally, I think that [hyperlink blocked] is actually freedom. Considering Spamton wanting to see your [heart-shaped object], mentioning grabbing life by the [silly strings], and how Spamton is attacking the soul, which would free Kris from the player with the soul destroyed. But as with how we broke Spamton's strings, he simply shut down, showing that neither Kris nor Spamton can be truly rid of their strings and still function properly.
@@Tragic_Child I mean, if Spamton wanted Kris' soul then he doesn't want it just to free Kris from being controlled, Have you seen how he acts, would someone like him that is absolutely crazy about being powerful and being a big shot someday, would he want to do something good to achieve that dream? Of course not, he acts like a scammer and he is a scammer, he wouldn't want the human's soul just to free them from being controlled, he would probably sell it to someone else or use it to become even more powerful.
@@Tragic_Child Also if it was freedom then when Spam says: "I'll get so, I'll get so, I'll get so, I'll get so, I'll get so, [Hyperlink Blocked]" if [Hyperlink Blocked] was freedom then it would be: I'll get so, I'll get so, I'll get so, I'll get so, I'll get so, Freedom. ? Now that doesn't make any sense, does it.

there's a Tumblr post that goes, Toby Fox: feel every emotion all at once us: yes sir right away sir ...and Spamton alone is a speedrun of exactly that
Ngl the way you animate this reminds me of how the old Simpson’s animation looks, simpler designs that almost always keep moving Oddball rant aside, good goin’!
Fun fact: to the right of the dumpster you first find spamton, there's a ripped up queen poster, behind it is another poster with spamton on it without his glasses, interacting with it, you get a message saying the poster says something along the lines of "big shot auto deals"
I feel like the static eyes / glasses are when spamton breaks character, which could highly be mike (spamton before he became the spam we all love) showing himself
Isn’t it strange how S. G. Spamton glitches out every time the phone rings? Is it him realizing his past, what he could’ve changed? Or is it him thinking about what the person said on the other line? Or could it have even been him trying to pick the phone back up, even though nobody’s on the line? So many questions, so little answers. Edit: I just realized something. What if Smapton is a Gaster follower. Think about this for a second; all Gaster’s followers have a monotone color palette, and when Spamton (who I will reference as SGS because writing “Spamton” is why to long.) hears the phone ring or be on the phone, his glasses eye things turn grey. Since everything else else on him is black and white, and we know that he used to have color, I think that he became a Gaster follower when he lost all of his costumers and he asked WD for help, he slowly started follies what he said without reason. He lost color on everything but his glasses and his cheeks which I suspect is just the robot itself having cheeks that change color, but that’s beside the point. What really matters here is that I think that he talked to Jevil, the first secret boss of the game. He realized of how believing WD could help him, since he became free, but Gaster only made Jevil insane which I suspect was the first step in becoming WD’s followers. SGS is step 2, starting to go off his orders, making him monotone but still have color in some places. I *predict* that the secret bosses of all 7 chapters will slowly show us the decline of normality to becoming a Gaster follower. And yes I have been listening to this on loop for ad long as this took. It helped a lot.
Your phone used to be connected to the internet. Every time someone picked up the phone it would cause your computer to not function. Considering how he's from 1997 I can see him being connected to a landline lol
This video is one of the few I've seen actually accurately depict spamton hiding his anger and despair over his lot in life behind his wacky salesman schtick.
WHOA! That was a very [[BIG SHOT]] animation!! If only Spamton could see it himself. :,) It would make the little guy really happy to have art dedicated to him.
These Great [Kromer] animations lately, really give you a [Big Shot]. Also, Spamton with eyes..... At this rate, when are we getting a full Spamton anime?
He's had "eyes" the whole time, but it is implied that his Dealmakers are a part of him in some form since he can swap the lens colors instantly and see unaltered pupils through them.
This could actually be the perfect resume of Spamton history, after all Kris is the Knight and walks really slowly like he is very tired, like when You don't sleep well, Kris problably didn't sleep well in the night previous to starting the game because of creating the dark fountain from card castle and talking to the king and Jevil, neither in chapter 1 night because of creating cyber world fountain and talking to Spamton.
Kris isn't the knight, king doesn't recognize them as such and even jevil mentions the knight with kris present. The library was closed and they had no way of getting in, let alone creating a dark fountain
@@Mqstodon its possible they dont know how the knight looks whatsoever, theyre just like toys that know of their creator and how they were created but dont know how they look like, especially considering the knight just creates the fountain and leaves before the dark world is even a thing, or else they wouldnt be able to get out (lightners need to seal the fountain to go back) However, its possible the knight isnt even a lightner (somehow) as king hates lighters yet worships the knight, but then again theres the fact that queen specifically talks about lightners being the only ones to make fountains while talking about the knight so I also think maybe the reason they know kris as a knight is because they always open fountains at NIGHT Theres also that knight chess piece in ch1 that calls kris a "horsie" which is of course a ref to knight chess pieces which are horses Kris also looks alot like a knight in their dark world form I definitely think kris is the knight, and i will admit its disappointing that it wasnt a new character and that it was revealed so early on, but it just makes too much sense, especially with everything i just said, and chapter 1's ending and a line jevil gives, "in the shadow of the knights hand" which is very similar to how kris can hold a shadow crystal/glass with their hand and it will show the world if they didnt exist, which is why using it in the dark world shows the light world version, because without kris, those dark worlds wouldnt have existed, this is further proven if you use it in the light world, in ch1 you can see through your hand with it, and in ch2, it shows susie all rude and cruel looking, because without kris, susie wouldnt have had her character development "Imagine a world where you didnt exist, everything functions perfectly without you Haha... The thought terrifies me"
Kris isn't the Knight, though. Queen goes into pretty deep detail of how The Knight creates Dark Fountains; I find it hard to believe she could know all this without ever seeing The Knight, and if The Knight is Kris, Queen should've recognized them. Not only that, but when everyone exits the Dark World, Noelle and Berdly already have a ton of studying materials at the desk; it looks like they were studying when suddenly The Knight appeared and created the Dark World; I would assume they had been hiding in the closet, since its flavor text mentions it's large enough for someone to hide inside. Also, your point that the only way to exit Dark Worlds is for the Lightners to seal the fountain is blatantly wrong: Kris and Susie can exit the Castle Town Dark World by stepping into the portal at the south side; I would guess that the other Dark Worlds have exits hidden away somewhere, but we don't see them because our goal is not merely to escape, but to seal the Dark Fountain guarded by the game's main antagonist. All that aside, there's no way Toby would reveal a secret as major as who The Knight is in Chapter 2 of a 7-chapter game, and certainly wouldn't have it be Kris; I have a feeling that The Knight, whoever or whatever it is, is hiding in the strange bunker on the south end of town. Kris just listened to Queen's explanation of creating Dark Worlds and decided to try it themself.
Amazing job on the animation! I feel bad for Spamton. Poor guy didn't know what he was getting himself into. Toby does an amazing job with his characters.
