market is flooded with absolute shit. New products coming o ut every other month, it's all cardboard just with different colours. Every player has 100 rookies cards from 100 series, then retro rookies and extended rookies running into the next year.. I got out of collecting and just watch videos now. If I want a player I'll buy him on eBay and save thousands of dollars by the end of the year

Because production runs aren’t as vast as they used to be. They’re not printing 1,000,000 cases of products anymore. Plus every card has 5, 6, 7, 8+ parallels with numbering. It’s far easier and far more common to pull numbered cards. In addition, cards are far more accessible now than they were in the 90s. With eBay, COMC, Instagram, Facebook groups, etc. It’s not impossible for someone to collect a card that’s /10, and collect every single copy.
