Now wanting to protect others from deception, a fake nurse shares how she lied for years 

I'm a nurse and I blame the healthcare organizations that hired her...how did this go unnoticed by them?

So, she didn’t trust her kids with just anybody so goes and faked having a license and subjected patients to anybody? Can’t make this ish up!

As an RN, I can tell you it’s hard enough some days to care for complicated patients even WITH a 4-year nursing degree. Without it, it’s downright scary.

That is SUPER dangerous. The sad thing is she probably was smart enough to become a real nurse if she would have been willing to go through the grueling schooling process. It's scary that she put other people's lives in danger without the proper training.

Everyone is outraged at her pretending to be a nurse but no one is commenting that her name is Bacon.

It’s a shame, bc she could have gone to school and become a real nurse, and we do need quite a few of those. She seems like she genuinely enjoyed nursing, and it can take as little as 2 years to get your license. Gotta put in the work!

So what about the employer who didn't verify the information whatsoever and who didn't think it was odd that the birthday was different. I definitely think she is not the only one who should be looked at here. Also how many other people are working at nurses and didn't piss off their ex enough to expose them? That's what we should be thinking about

I'm a nurse and I always tell people that it's more than just saying here Take this medication. There are assessments that has to be done and you have to be able to differentiate normal and abnormal body functions. As nurses We advocate for the patients when medications treatments etc are not effective and is causing harm to the patient. we report to the doctors to let them know what's going on with the patient if medications or therapies isn't therapeutic. This is why it's so important for people not to try to think that nursing is easy. There is a science behind it. You have to understand the pathophysiological reasons behind what you're doing.

As an RN, I cannot imagine how she could keep up the ruse. The fact that she could have made a critical error angers me. She sounds truly remorseful though and she will serve time. Hopefully, after that she will move on.

Her excuse for lying is that she didnt want anyone near her kids? Tf? Save your tears. You didn't want people to endanger your kids but you endangered everyone you encountered. What a monster.

As an RN, I am appalled by this! I can't believe some one would do this especially given the gravity of the job. As a nurse you are morally, ethically, and legally responsible for that patient when they are under your care. Clearly, the employers didn't do crap in terms of due diligence to protect patients when it comes to the hiring process. Personally, I hope they throw the book at her, along with those employers. I hate to say, but she's only sorry she got caught. It's a senseless act as she could've went to nursing school, worked hard, and earned the title of a nurse, but instead she did this...absolutely disgusting!!!

Just amazes me that the only way she was caught because her ex snitched on her...I had to go through a background check level 1& 2....Fingerprints, license lookup etc...Scary to think as a patient your life is in the hands of a fake nurse

When my wife got her nursing degree and then license she had to be fingerprinted, background checked, and show proof of identity. This lady should have to go away for years and pay restitution.

Unfortunately there are nurses that shouldn't be nurses and don't provide proper care for the sick....I think it is truly evil for those people that have the licenses and are not doing their jobs properly.

She seems to be making excuses for her behavior which annoys me. I am an RN and getting hired requires a lot of documentation at least here in Maine. How did they not know?

Jail is well earned by this fake. I also needed to support my kids but got A REAL nursing degree. Honesty is a priority in nursing.

honestly i'm more impressed than anything else. She may not have been a nurse from a law/liability perspective, but working and learning 6 years on the job, with no accusations of harm means that she was incredibly intelligent and attentitive with her job. Although she got her job through dishonest means (and she definitely should face consequences of doing so), i'm sure that her practical skill as a nurse is indistinguishable from real nurses. people act like a piece of paper determines your skill or ability or intelligence or whatever, but the truth is that its not a lack of paperwork that makes someone dangerous, its who they are as a person. i'm sure there are real nurses that have done far more harm to their patients than she has.

What she did was evil. If you really want to become a nurse, you should try to go to a really school. But she was a coward who wanted the easy way out. And another lesson, do no get involve with people in your workplace, for if your relationship goes sour, it will backfire on you.

This is crazy. I once was responsible for verifying licenses of all nursing staff, and we didn't accept copies but original licenses issued every couple of years, and part of the screening process, at least in Texas, was that Social Security numbers had to match licenses, as well as date of birth. It was an automated system then, and that was over 20 years ago. States need to tighten up so this cannot happen.

Every job I have applied for has required that I provide my transcripts and degree as proof that I graduated with a social work degree. If all employers did this, I guarantee you, we would not run into this kind of stuff. Employers would weed out people like this. This really could’ve been worse. She could have killed someone.

But the Tennessee Board of Nursing SHOULD step up and create MORE steps to VALIDATE whether or not someone has an ACTUAL LEGITIMATE LICENSURE that's in good standing in their state. As retired RN who is pushing for nursing home reform,this more proof of defect. Every job asked for resume, proof of licensure which used to include wallet card from state. I like the copy aspect. Employers should be charged with negligence and endangering public

I'm currently in school taking general education classes right now but i have dreams of becoming a travel nurse with an ASN and eventually work on getting my BSN. It will take some time but I'm passionate about it. i don't understand why people would rather lie and cheat instead of going to school for it!

And when are the facilities going to be held accountable for doing such a poor background check on their potential hires?

Kinda crazy that she actually DID the job for 6 years. Sadly I think she must have been pretty competent or she would have been found out sooner? right?

If the system is going to post our nursing license information, it should make us update passport photos and get them notarized, and boards and attach them to our license. They should also do FBI level fingerprints like I had to do with certain jobs and every job should do fingerprints like they should.

This is infuriating. It doesn’t matter your circumstance you put people’s lives at risk. I’ll give her the respect to be so upfront about it and trying to help prevent this from happening. That does take a lot to own up to your wrongdoings. I’m an ICU nurse and the amount of training we go through… there’s no way you can just “learn on the job”

Just think there are about 1700 others out here in several states that bought fake nursing school certificates, sat for the boards, and are working as nurses and student nurses right now that the state of Florida is leaving up to those States to take care. she probably knows more than the newbies they are putting out these days. Most of the schooling that is useful is on the job learning. I got a degree and I can tell you that there was about half of it that was useless BS to just make the school more money.

I cant understand how someone can do this and be ok in their mind, their conscience and with god....I think all these nurses who are caught and knowingly did this should have to serve time at least five years minimum and get a full mental evaluation (but still have to serve time regardless). This is insane and now it has ppl questions and looking down on real nurses and healthcare personnel who went to school (especially being from a foreign country and studied and did it the right way.

there is no "could've" hurt, she DID hurt people. They did not get the care they paid for or were medically required to HAVE. As a nurse of 16 yrs this pisses me off. I understand the struggle as a single, divorced mom, but to tamper with another persons professional license and possibly ruin their reputation and the kids involved, is a disgrace. I get that you are remorseful, but jeez, this is insane.

I do think that there is a conversation that needs to be had about is schooling and education always the best way if a person has a interest in a passion in a certain career and they want to be safe sometimes these people can be more or should I say a better nurse than some of the people that went through eight years of college a lot of the people in school are doing it just for the money and not for the patient I’d like to think that this would open peoples eyes to think that maybe we should make the process so grueling because even though the process is grueling as we can see, the certified nurses are going on TikTok complaining about their “Ickes” they went to school for years did it the right way, and got on TikTok and complained about pregnant women in the maternity ward this woman faked her certification but never once got a complaint or grievance. It says something about passion yes, it’s wrong and there should be consequences, but I do think this is another example of going to college does not always make a person, educated or passionate about what they do.

Most of the comments are like “she coulda been a real nurse…” Maybe. But instead she IS a CRIMINAL. Focus on what actually happened.
