I worked as medical assistant in the 80s. Our large multispecialty clinic with only one RN as the supervisor. I could scored a 69%. so I'm guessing with studying, all the online tools available to study amd test. Plus if they've taken other stem classes they were able to pass. Some people can't pass the classes themselves, but are great standardized test takers.

Abby that is correct! As young as I look I'm near retirement and I don't even know if that is something I'm willing to do. I'm not ready to say "I worked as a nurse..." 😂😂😂

@@blnk9605 yes..... and no.... if the schools are diploma mills and schools that just get federal dollars but no real training. It wasn't cheating. They were already locked in financially. My MA program required an externship which the school was supposed to set up. After 6 months I finally had to set my own up and fight for it to be accepted. They finally just gave a few of my classmates credit for theirs after they threatened to sue and contact the department of education. On paper the schools probably looked great, had great reviews. Going in I'm guessing most didn't know it was a scam. After a while in later years, that was figured out since they mentioned a lot were from NY. Additionally, I bet a lot were trained nurses back home, but their degrees foreign schools didn't transfer without additional training at the time. So they were able to pass the NCLEX no problem, just needed a piece of paper issued in the US. I'm holding out judgement on the folks that are working, because they've passed the board test and are licensed. Not enough info was provided about them on a state by state level. I've made a note to follow this case because I'm curious.

Not all the time there are accelerated schools but they usually are private and cost more.

there are many private schools now that have the same accreditations as Broward college, just costs 2 or 3x the price. it’s important to look through the accreditation before going to any school

Tercero en Cuba si hay estudios de enfermeria de 5 años, hay de 3 pero son tecnicos medios. El nivel educacional en cuba, la preparacion y los programas de estudios fueron muy altos. Los de aqui son una basura, con una calidad muy baja, y los graduados salen sin ninguna preparacion. Los empleadores simpre te dan un training hasta de 3 meses porque conocen la baja calidad de los programas de estudios. De donde eres?? Dejame adivinar?? De ahi vienen tus palabras y resentimientos

Don't get crazy now. I've worked hard for 27 years with my associates degree but don't get it twisted. I actually train BSN nurses, who come out of school totally unprepared for the real world of nursing. I also have a BFA which was obtained before I became a nurse. Your classism is showing, might want to tuck it back in.

Associate degree nurses are legitimate nurses. The core of nursing and patient care is completed during the first four semesters of the nursing program. The last two semesters needed for a BSN focuses on nursing leadership. There’s tons of nursing managers with 30 years experience with an ADN, especially if they were nurses from back then where hospitals didn’t chase magnet status so much.
