The end of the world? Does it really matter anymore? If I succeed, no-one will care because the world will have begun again. If I fail, I don’t care whether this world survives or not. -Nox
Nox was the man who made me realize how complex and whole a villain could be. Ever since Nox, I've paid attention to all encountered villains, wishing for them to be up to his quality.
If you're looking for a villain to stand up to Nox, go read Rave Master, one of the middle villains, Pumpkin Doryu, hates humans, and his backstory gives him a very good reason to. Rave is overall a very good manga with great characters and good story as well.
It really was a twist: he wins against the heroes, but fails in his plans because of a bigger "bad guy" (object in this case; the cube manipulated him). It's just incredibly convenient that the time slip was just enough to undo the biggest damage, but not all of it. What if for example, it was not mere minutes but days or even years? Just not enough to go back nearly 100 years as he expected.
The coolest thing about Nox’s loss isn’t just that he had won, but that Yugo was distracted by something that was likely the monster that killed Nox’s family. Theoretically Nox got his wish and could have saved his family, but was too focused on Yugo to notice.
@@carlospadilla9099 his family was killed by the flood caused by Orgest’s tears. If he had seen ogrest, and stopped fighting Yugo, he could have gone and saved his family. But Nox didn’t even notice it, because he was too focused on his selfish desires, to simply look around him. Which is ironically what caused him to lose his family before. The funniest part is Yugo would have helped Nox to save his family if Nox had noticed, and pointed out they were already in the past. After all, Yugo is a good guy and wants to stop Nox’s evil, removing the cause before he became evil is a pretty good deal. The mix of time and space magic would have likely have got them there before any family members died, meaning Nox could never save his family without Yugo.
@@sevenclovers7 That's an interesting theory, but I'm pretty sure they were just transported to where Ogrest was in the present. Nox never made it back in time. The point of his story was realizing that he had become a monster pursuing something he could never obtain and then finally letting go.
Merci Wakfu.
Funny think is Yugo did time-space travel them to the past (the scene where we see Ogrest) when the Chaos was starting (the time he wanted to be but not the place). but Nox was to focus on Yugo to see that. Then he 1 hit K.O and rollbacks to the present by accident just 20 min before the Og jump. He reached his goal but was to focus/blind/emotional to see it (understandable so). Ironic he just jumped forward in time when he just wanted to go back.
@@sergiovergaramontemiranda2116 not really, Yugo never tlme traveled, it's just a fan assumption, he just teleported the walking clock near Mt.Zinit Nox was actually able to go back in Time, but it took too much Wakfu to go back 200 years in the past. Still an achievement when even Grougal thought it was impossible
If you talk about a villain stopping time, Dio existed well before Nox, even in anime(yes Jojo had an OVA in 1995). However, let's not divide. Look at the awesome arts human being can make!
Keep in mind that Yugo was still very new to everything when he went up against Nox. He was also fighting Nox with Adamaí who was just as inexperienced. With the other battles he was given some kind of boost, save for the siblings where no one actually beat anyone. With Qilby, he had to boost Phaeryn gave him, plus the other eliatrope children along with Shinonami in her egg, with Ogrest he had the six dofus along with Percedal's goddly powers and the only siblings that could actually count as defeated would be Toxene (I think I'm spelling that write) and the Ecaflip who's name I forgot. Toxene was beat by Flopin though, and the Yugo only really won a game against the ecaflip. Everyone else really just let them pass after small requirements, and the whole shebang just ended after Echo and Oropo blew themselves up.
Imagine A fight between Nox full power verse Ogrest. Like what if Nox succeeded in going back to Ogrest attack on the island that took his family away.
Actually Yugo never won a fight with an antagonist by himself. Nox defeated him and surrendered after the Eliacube' lack of performance to rewind time. Qilby destroyed both Yugo and Adamai together, he got fked later by plot armor. Ogrest never got defeated, both Yugo and Tristepin together struggled to defeat the dragons and it's Otomai that saved the day. As for Oropo, nobody could reach him even all together, and he just had to chose between giving up on his ideal or giving up on his loved ones - with Echo saving the day also. And the fact that the protagonists are not such heroes, with lots of bad sides, and that they actually win without winning their major fights, is what makes this serie so pretty damn deep
Exactly what @@kevinmignot3777 said. There Is hardly any major villain they have ever defeated on their own The only one case I can recall one of the heroes prevailing against a major villain Is Tristepin VS Goultard on Season 3.
Yeah, plus, Xelor is a really cool class, but in the Wakfu game (not Dofus) this class became the hardest class to master because of how complex its abilities works
Nox is definitely one of my favorite villains. He makes sense, that's what I love about him. Everything he does says and thinks it all lines up with why he became a villain in the first place. And how all his elements fit together. perfectly. The Aaliyah cube, his family, his plan, his weapons and his creations. #perfectvillan
He was destroyed because he had too much power, he wasn't bad, he just wanted to make amends. Besides, his movements, his voice, his personality make him the best character ever...
To be honest (tbh) even Nox couldn't defeat Grugal without the immense power of the Eliacubus that freezed him in place. Nox called for backup, he powered up and in the end Grugal was still too much for him to handle. But for sure he gave a good fight and he was indeed better than Qilby in terms of dragon slaying! ;-)
I mean Quilby didnt want them dead, he Just wanted his dofus. If they get in his way he Just push them away. (still Nox was a better dragon slayer than Quilby). And Nox used every trick in his Xelor book to Just stun him enough time to steal his Wakfu. He didnt beat (kill/slay) him but put him out of combat
Nah quilby is way stronger than nox . Juste like ogrest is ahead of quilby and oropo ahead of everyone else. Principal antagoniste in Wakfu are each time stronger than his predecessor
@@eric3191 are you sure that Oropo its stronger than Ogrest? from my view point they are equaly match . I mean he took (with his dragons) the 12 gods in combat and won (yes they were weakened but still ). Yes Oropo can take Ogrest to another dimension, leave it there and gg, but in a combat to the death its Just too equal
From Wakfu to Code Lyoko, man the french are good at making animes. And yes, Nox is one of the bests villains I've encountered in cartoon/anime in my opinion.
Yes i can't help but agree, there aren't that much good french show (we can't really talk about anime) but when there are, thoses shows are MASTERPIECE (sry for my bad english i'm french x))
A Daigon Hai' is a quantum mage in this old game i used to play, like a battle mage that doesn't need a staff or wand but runic inscriptions all over this shattered armor from when they were still technically part of real space, absolutely beast mode with a great sword but weak vs mind attacks.
Also weirdly enough they were called chaos mages if one chose to use a staff instead of their normal name. Either way, amazing tank build if in a party with a priest who can negate psy attacks just can't use a few abilities like the Null Tunnel or it might kill your allies.
Aaaaah Wakfu. I can't wait for season 4 and 5. I've heard both are likely, if not already confirmed. But my dear Nox! I love him so much! Wakfu does a wonderful job with its villains.
There won't be a Season five. After the fourth Season of Wakfu, there will be waven (the fourth Season will end the era of the Wakfu, and start the era of the waven)
Nox- mechanic, cool mask , powerful enough to manipulate time, have a cool theme , believe that his goal is more than coast, always survives, want to be the a good dad ,have a tragic backstory, counts as best villain. Bondrud - researcher , cool mask, one of the strongest among white whistles, have a lot of cool theme songs, believe that his goal is more then it’s coast , always survives,”best dad” ,create a tragic backstory for other characters , counts as best villain . Hmmm interesting
Nox is up there as one of my favorite antagonists. He's written really well, in a way similar to Johan from Monster - absent most of the story, yet an ever-looming threat that has an ultimate payoff.
In the end, I never truly understood his Johan - he's in an entirely different level of understanding to me. But I still enjoyed his presence nonetheless.
@@whoareyoutoaccuseme6588 As fucked up as his thinking was, I completely understood Johan. I'd love to get into a long discussion about it, but it'd be majorly spoiler heavy to anyone who hasn't read the manga/ watched the anime. (To anyone who hasn't, you're doing yourself a disservice! Even as an avid consumer of all forms of literature, I'd have to put Monster up there as one of the most finely crafted stories out there.) Pretty cool to actually meet another fan of the series, though! And in a Wakfu video of all places! Cheers, mate.
If you like this type of villain, you'd probably love the boss of the mafia in Jojo part 5. He is a faceless villain that orchestrates everything and is an ever present threat shown to be able to strike at any moment without you noticing him without it being too late. Plus, without spoilers, just like Nox here, he controls time
And yet, he wasn't even insane, just lonely and hopeless, he did that out of desperation, because it was his only hope to see his loved once again, and yet, he was manipulated by Oropo, who, at this time was in the eliacube (the newest OVA proves it)
i used to watch wakfu as a kid on my tv, didn' watch it full just some episodes as i remember and now i decided to watch full seasons i noticed the serie is french lol
Code lyoko, wakfu and Miraculous The holy trinity of French anime (I know that miraculous isn't exactly an anime but I cannot denial the magical girl thing too)
*Nox* A villian who don't want to destroy/rule the world but only wants to see his family again and create a better future. I wished he could redeem himself after 1x26 because even he did terrible things and murder Nox clearly would take the chance to make up for his mistakes. His death was pure tragedy. His wish at the end came true but not in a way everyone, not even the audiance, want it to happen. I hope we see Nox again in the afterlife together with his family but I don't think Wakfu (even Season 4 will gonna happen) deals with the Afterlife or use Nox for Fan Service.
Im about 2 years late, but there's a game taking place in the same universe as the show, with a matching title Nox wouldn't have gone to an afterlife, but rather, he and his family likely reincarnated at some point, living new lives as new people. Either that, or their still in excarnam, removing the burdens they took on during life so they can have a fresh start in incarnam

Well, most wakfu characters didn't think it was possible, not even Grougaloragran who created the eliacube or quilby who was the Eliatrope technology expert
