Nozomi is a Pufferfish 

Sometimes it can be hard to pin down exactly what a supporting character is or does. They accomplish a huge litany of functions, and add necessary nuance to the shows and movies we love. Well for Liz-a movie steeped in nuance-their effect is tenfold.
For some their purpose is straightforward, as with our two couples of Yuuko/Natsuki and Reina/Kumiko. They directly contrast against Mizore and Nozomi as well as progress the plot towards its ultimate end. Other characters however, are a bit more veiled in subtlety. Ririka is one, whose role and effect may not be noticed straight off the bat.
And another is... pufferfish. I think it's a fine supporting character. But does it count at all?
