Lovely video essay ❤ Especially enjoyed the flower language analysis part as I’d only ever seen that sort of thing discussed textually on Twitter or Reddit. Really liked what you did with it here
Hi! I'd loved very much this movie and your analysis. Its visuals, storytelling, music and art style are very captivating, and the story is also compelling and relatable. I would point out that an idea luring always behind the whoe film is duality, but a duality that should be resolved to integrate (for instance, initially we see disjointnes of two souls which are next to the other, and finally the two are part different ways, but being nonetheless more joint that at the beginning). Also Mizore shees initially Nozomi as her parting blue bird (which also what the flim suggests), but later all we understand that Mizore, which is the more accomplished player, but very reserved and dependent, is the real blue bird (actually this was so all along for Nozomi, but until the end this was not evident). The musical score as a whole is fantastic, but the duo of the flute and oboe "A decision of love" is really beautiful and heartwarming. As a lover of classical music, this is always in my playlist.
