Buying a gun should be like buying a car, shouldn't be possible without a license, and getting a license should come with an exam to show you're capable of using it.

I strongly hold the belief that weapon regulation, vehicle regulation and the war on drugs, are different sides of the same coin: public health. The only problem is people see them as separate issues and treat them all differently as a result. The easiest thing to say is to ban dangerous things, especially when people dont understand how it works and are afraid it turns bad, but that's an unreasonable demand in practice, and worst of all, it signals to others that this thing should be feared while giving it more allure to the wrong kinds of people. The only thing that works are regulations based on understanding and informing users of the potential dangers and consequences.

that is why i love Switzerland , a highly armed country without the problems .

When I did my military service, I use to be in the sharp shooting core, and I really loved the challenge of marksmanship over distance, appreciate the machine called a rifle and the challenge. But you got to have the respect and discipline to use such a thing and above all mentally must be right in your head. Now for me this was long Long… long ago never touched a weapon again after I got out, do I mis it, yes I mis the whole meditative challenge, and if I ever get the chance to do it again, I will. Is it an essential mis in my life, not at all, and I defiantly don't want just anyone who isn't educated and not mentally screened to have one. For your own self defense that's fake news, and gives you a false impression of security, unless you walk around like a psychopath siting in self-defense mode 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. In that case you end up in a mental institute within a few weeks, if they haven't shot you first. Shooting I don't know how many bullets in a short time on short distance as a sport, don't see the point, shooting over a long distance, and hit target that is art. I'm not against firearms, over regulated laws are perhaps too harsh, but unlimited freedom that is unsensible, there has to be some controle if you're wordy to have something like that in your possession. That's my idea on the matter.

To my knowledge, and I will search where I have it, something went wrong with the interpretation from the old documents which were the basis for the 2nd amendment of the constitution. There was no phrase in it that every American has the right to own a gun. However after lots of discussion they decided it was in there and put it in there. Still today they are arguing about this. But there is too much money involved. Unfortunately.

There is a Dutch saying: "The good must suffer because of the evil". So sorry well-trained gun owners with a good will, you should not own a gun, because it is proven that on a societal level it is simply a bad idea because there are too many "nefarious users". The price for that freedom is simply too high in my good conciense. And in yours?

In Texas you can buy a gun when you turn 18 but you must be at least 21 to buy a beer? That simply says it all.

Funny thing is that I really can't watch Lubach on my own. He's fun and he has good points, but his style has a certain intensity that makes me uneasy. (While I can easily watch others that are WAYYYYY more intense!) But your relaxed demeanor makes it far more enjoyable to watch him.

You don't need A gun at home to shoot at the gun range, you can rent one or ask if they make lockers there to store your guns. That way they are in A controlled area all the time and you don't have to take them on the streets to get there. That way your sore nobody in your house has access to them and your not tempted to reach for it if something happens on your way there or back.

No, no. Everybody needs one. Not everybody needs 52 guns in 12 different calibers and thousands of bullets in their house. But one, just one. For home defense. Yes, I do think people need that in a place as unstable as the United States. Here in the Netherlands. I agree, nobody needs one.

Hi Highly Combustable. Lubach makes something very bad, some kind of funny. You know Jim Jefferies about this subject. We in Holland have the same problem but than with bikes. More bikes than people.😊

I can understand you have a licensed little handgun but why the hell US gunshops or walmarts can sell semi automatic assault rifles to any person walking in while not thoroughly checking their background and mental health. And who the hell keeps that in a house with children, especially kids in puberty. And if you want to "protect" your family, forget it, your house will have been robbed by the time you got the gun ready. Invest in a better alarm system. Might be an idea. Also when you'll kill someone with that gun you'll never have a day in your life again where that doesnt go through your head. It will haunt you forever.

So you think that criminals who have decided to break the law by being criminals will listen to a law that forbids guns? I am from the Netherlands and I am jealous of your gun laws because. Those laws aren't there to protect against criminals but against a tyrant government. Last year I saw that this world was a mess. In the Netherlands we can't do anything about tyrant governments we are like pigs for slaughter. But in the USA they can defend themselves if needed.
