Great win Storm! They were absolutely solid defensively and played hard and tough all night. I trusted in Belly Ache to bring the goods, however. Harry Grant was the hero and was great all night. Storm made a little too many errors and penalties for my liking but its promising stuff for when Olam and Paps come back. Bellamy remains undefeated in round 1, which is an incredible record.

Great match to start the season. Incredible comeback by the Storm. Lost lots of soldiers at different times throughout the match, made plenty mistakes and fumbled opportunities, but kept digging in. They were missing many of their starting team as well. Harry Grant is a beast. 60 tackles, top tackler of the match, and beautiful golden point try. Shoutout to Bronson Garlick on debut too 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Whoa. That's a good match! Quality tries by both teams. Solid game management. Quick thinking by Grant to keep the Eels honest at the end there. Eels look solid, be interesting to watch their games even after losing this one in the most gut-wrenching way.

Golden Point was introduced basically 'so the fans get a result' at the end of a game. A draw IS a result that awards both teams a hard earned point after 80 minutes. That one point that could separate teams in the Top 8 come finals time. Although this game was won due to individual brilliance from Harry Grant [what a player] most GP games are won with a field goal that is not an equitable way to win two points at the end of the previous 80 minute rugged encounter. [Although I'd prefer a draw, 2 x 10 minute extra-time would be better than GP]

I love Craig Bellamys' reactions every time the storm wins very tough games like this one 🤣🤣🤣. The storm will need to give our great coach very very clear wins to prevent him from getting heart attacks 🤣🤣🤣

Really disappointed with the thrown chances, especially in the final 5 mins and GP time. Unfortunately Brown and Moses had off nights, but the rest of the squad really stood up i thought. Hopgood has potentially already cemented himself as buy of the year, what a workhorse. Hodgson was impressive as well.

The early penalty for the "late" tackle on Moses was a bit harsh i thought, not that late in real time, probably not called if not a strong tackle. I can live with it being ruled like that though aslong as its a penalty everytime.

Parra looked like they only got off the beers last week. Terribly out of shape they will be better at the end of the year but good win storm

When Parramatta were offered those 2 points right infront early on when they were 2-0 up, I was screaming at the TV for them to take it, judging by the look of the game it was always going to go down to the wire, I felt they would lose by 1-2 points, but ended up losing by a try in golden point, you take those 2 points & they would’ve won in regular time 14-12 with no need to go into golden point. When you are offered points on hand against a team like Melbourne you take them as they are like gold against this team. Other than that it was an awesome opening game for the 2023 season, very entertaining but scrappy affair from both teams as they look to gel & get into rhythm as the season goes on. Also ditch Golden Point, there is nothing wrong with a draw, I’ve never been a fan of golden point, why they introduced this rule is beyond me, when teams battle hard for 80 mins & it remains a tie then just let it be, losing in a field-goal-a-thon is a pathetic way to end a top game.
