The shot on both Ponga and Crossland were at least a yellow possibly/probably red. Adam Gee is a weak ref and can’t make a tough call . I’m sick of the double standards he in this game. If that was Tigers , Warriors , Canberra or those guys it’d be red. The NRL doesn’t care about player welfare.
@@plc2866but atleast he was consistent with his calls, they all could have been 10 in the bin for both teams but instead left them all on the field. can’t keep everyone happy. people want send offs/sin bins and others complain when they do get send offs or sin bins.
another Nathan Cleary masterclass. the Panthers peaking at the right time of the season. Knights have to beat the Tigers at home next week if they are any chances of making the finals
Even though I live in Englsnd now, I grew up in the Penrith area and we were lways the also-rans and easybeats back then! So good to see the Panthers multiple premiers from those dark days when we played in the brown-and-white striped jerseys.
@@JayJay-qf2rq You know nothing so should give up commenting on rugby league. Won us the game against Dolphins and today. Won us the GF last year from a seemingly impossible position. Who cares if we win without him? We’re still better with him. If you actually think we’d win a GF with Schneider at halfback instead then you’re legit insane.
Another undermanned penrith side and another pin point perfect performance from cleary to take the win away from the opposition.... this guy will be immortalised and there isnt a club in this competition that can match penrith in the 2024 finals series.
People keep saying it’s a high tackle on Ponga but it was side on chest to his shoulder. Ponga milking it by dropping down and swinging his head back like he does when he’s getting pumped from behind by Ashley Klein for origin 😂 That tackle was weak and had nothing in it. Side note: I think Tago might be faster than turuva seeing he always makes a break for him and has to slow down for turuva to catch up 😂
No he is not, lockyer and Thurston played during an era where playmakers weren't protected species, lockyer was a champion fullback and 5/8, Thurston probably the greatest of all time, Imagine what those 2 would do in this era of rugby league, possibly the softest era of all time, they'd run riot.
@@Mr.K_______ Tigers did it last year too, but it didn't seem to help them in the finals. We'll have to see how well they do this year in the finals, huh?
Direct contact with the head and we’ll just put you on report cause it’s a close game and we’re in Penrith. I think betting odds have lots to do with the way calls go..
It was a little high but Crossland was falling, Yeo is over 6ft and there was no HIA so what are you whining about? Against saints Laurie got knocked out cold from a very late, high tackle, not even a penalty and the MRC said nothing to see here.
@@damianclark2080100% they're a protected species. Along with the Storm & Roosters. Similar incidents over the weekend in other games, in regards, contact with the head. Justin Olam gets sent off. Joey Manu gets 10 in the bin. Asofa-Solomona gets a penalty & put on report. Same applies to the PenRef players. And Knights copped a penalty for an effective tackle. Only due to the fact the referee reacted to the crowd, baying for a penalty.
Natthan Cleary putting his hands up signalling 10mins in the bin for the opposing player, utterly disgusting behaviour and this needs to stop in the NRL.
Forget about the game from Panthers their hits on Ponga and Crossland was worse than that of Olam in the same round. Sick of this nonsense 👎👎 Train your officials properly!
I’m just not seeing many of these ‘head high’ tackles. They seem to be contacting shoulders and maybe bouncing up a wee bit - but that disallowed Penrith try for a high shot on Ponga - that didn’t seem very high to me.
It was direct contact with the head via his shoulder. But agree with the supposed head high tackles. That's why they use the reasoning of high contact.
Newcastle could have won that if Ponga could tackle..weakest shoulders in NRL!!!..another so called SUPERSTAR fullback who just doesn’t work on defence
Idk why Knights supporters are angry at the reff. He gave em multiple chances in this game. Even the penalty call against ponga allowed the knights to reset their defensive line and stopped penriths advantage of a quick play the ball against a broken line with 80%of the defending team still behind the play the ball. They had a better chance of defending their 20 with a fixed line than shutting down a line break. It was evident in this game that their goaline defense was way better than their scramble defense. The penalty against em played right to their advantage. But the knights fans aren't ready to admit it
