Finally! Finally Pat Richards has been recognised for his massively underrated effort. For years we've watched endless replays of the flick pass in highlight packages and more recently, Benji tributes, but then more often than not, that's where the video stops. To firstly have the reflexes to catch the ball one handed when he wouldn't have been ready for a flick pass, and to then keep his balance with the fend as well. Not many can do that. Great video and well done!

Ironically Rod Jensen had made a cover tackle similar 2 weeks before and pulled it off. Not many people know still to this day Pat Richards scored that try with a broken foot. Thanks for the great memories guys. Legends...

I read JT's book where he said if he hadnt been tripped that try wouldnt have been scored. I think benji wouldve stepped around him either way.

I've always said Pat made TWO great plays on that try. That fend was great but I think his alertness to be there and gather Benji pass was the best.

This will never ever be forgotten, when I was a kid cambeltown stadium was my dream, most of time on the train, or on high way cruisen to the gong, west is best and best is tigers, only way is up boys, have faith, chin ups we all know tigers is a fkn awesome team, just got to adapt be a team 💪😁👌

Brought back memories of the best 2 games the tigers have ever played, I was there to see them beat St George in the loudest cheering game I've ever been too, fantastic, then the Grand final, Benji's was a great pass but Pat Richards made that try happen, what a shame he went to England the following year, but he came back better than ever, such a great player.

This was TOP 5 best Tries EVER, exactly true that Pat was always overlooked for getting the actual try AND fend. But Sad how West Tigers did Benji like that at the end of their 2020 season....
