NS 1069 - Virginian Heritage Unit - Cruisin' with the Kids! 4th Time's the Charm!?

After missing this #heritageunit 3 other times, we FINALLY saw the Virginian! Sporting a newly painted coat, this unit it bright and shiny! (Despite us finding it right at sunset...)
After almost an hour of searching, we finally found this unit working the Sanvel Autorack yard in Ayer, MA.
This makes my 9th Heritage Unit and my kids 7th!

how's it going man, I found your channel after doing some research on rail trails and found a video you made in 2013. I thought it was well made and went to see if you had any recent videos and you literally took a trip to my town in the first video I clicked! I am a resident of Ayer MA.

Thank you! I'm glad you found my videos and that you liked them. I have a few from the Ayer area including this one obviously, a warbonnet at the grain mill, the Nickel Plate Road HU in the yard and the NS Brick unit rolling in. Enjoy!

Glad you found it Tim! It really is a beautiful unit. We were very fortunate to have had the crew let my 6 year old climb aboard 1069 when it was last here in October.

Way to go Tim for finally catching Virginian 1069. I’ve caught it a few times myself, including at Macungie, Pa. few years ago on a Train on the Reading Line

I can sure understand that. By the way, just saw a photo of the CSX 1976 Conrail Heritage in Worcester Yard right now getting ready to lead a Westbound Freight out of Worcester sometime today

I just saw that the CSX Conrail was around! I’m away today unfortunately, otherwise I would be chasing it down!
