Rowan, long before you were born, Jack Webb (the lead star of the Dragnet police show) and Johnny Carson did a routine on a copper clapper on the Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The title of the routine is "The Copper Clapper Caper". Another great vid, Rowan. Thanks so much. I remember hearing the distinct tone of the new electronic bells in my town growing up. I also remember going from two crossings in town having gates (the highway crossing and the one closest to the elementary and high schools) to all crossings having gates. That was so exciting for me as a kid. I lived two blocks from a crossing that went from no gates to gates. It was an added bonus being able to watch the gates go down and come back up. Like you said in the vid, so many people are probably thinking, how geeky is that? For true train fans, it’s a pretty awesome thing, especially as a child. I still love them even now, though. Also thanks for stating “there are no stupid questions here.” If you’re just a fan and not in the biz, you don’t know all the lingo and technical terms and I’m so glad you help bring that to everyone. Keep up the great work! Later tater!

You need to video rough crossing's ( for the train's ) as vehicle traffic especially heavy traffic crossings tend to beat the crossings down . During my career working for Union Pacific Railroad I was almost bounced out of my seat in a locomotive too many times . Great video's young man . As we say here in Arkansas , Keep them cards and letters coming .

Awesome video! I really like how you filmed at 15:39! I’ve never seen a crossing video filmed from the other side of a creek!

it's a unique location that will one day have a bridge over it, this Crossing backs traffic up immensely especially during rush hour, US route 15 is very close to interstate 66 in Haymarket and the traffic here is only growing, I'm surprised a bridge has not been built over it yet, which of course is why I filmed the Crossing in the first place!

That sounds a lot better than the electronic bell at the crossing across the street from me.
