BEHOLD! Nice sound but missing the “drive fool” oomph; especially in dance routines. Go back and look at shows like the NSU band vs Howard (circa 87/88) or NSU vs WSSU (circa 87/88). The band took no prisoners and had the audience screaming and on their feet when the show started until it ended because of the high energy and giving them the unexpected. Right now, the audience sits there and claps when the band is finished; like at a church service. I was in the legion during the “Fears” era (RIP) and part of the dance routine committee. Spent many hours revising routines because Mr. Fears didn’t like it. NSU ranks 5th for the National BOTB competition set for Dec 23 Div I category the day before the Celebration Bowl. Only the top two bands will compete.

Song choice is important. NSU has been nailing it with popular selections old and new putting them in a winning position over the past few years. Many of them I haven't heard other HBCU bands play.
I think they look high school. Need bigger movements and need to make sure everyone is doing them with the same intensity. These lil two steps are not giving power. I need the gworls to show out everytime. I'm a fan just want them to get on that collegic level of showmanship because they have technique.
@@GABEBRETREL love them too but I miss the sophisticated look they had going a couple years ago around '19 - '21. I think it's the costuming and wiggy looking wigs with excessive baby hair too. Would love to see them back in the character heels too and class it up. Details...
