I never get tired of hearing that exhaust note. I work for a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in the States and I myself also own a 392 Hemi Challenger, too. The torque on these motors is instantaneous, there’s no other NA V8 on the market like it. Cheers from Arizona!
One of these things drove up my work street the other day, and being a small town the copper knew us and gave it a bit of a go past work. Let me tell you, video doesn’t do it justice! Hearing one of these things in person is breathtaking! The rumble and crack of that engine was vibrating my chest and ground from about 50m away! Sounds incredible!
@@HurstTheHybrid actually not true, they dont get these.......i can tell ya, i agree with DJ Allbad114, i have one, and one poke on the loud pedal and you get looks good and bad!!....they sound AWESOME for a stock car...
@@shackleton274 I pretend like nobody's looking. Lol. You know when there is a car that wants to hear it go. It pulls up to you and cruises right next to you just wanting to hear you downshift. On the flip side, at night time everyone slows right to 50 kmph and guys on bikes slow down and sit up a little straighter that it gets annoying. My ballast is out on my front headlight and rather than swap the module I just leave it out so everyone can stop thinking I'm a cop at night because driving behind everyone going 50 really is hard. Cops must hate it. When in track mode it cancels the active exhaust so you hear the full sound and cops don't have that. They only have sport mode. So I believe mine and others would sound better than this. But wide open is probably wide open. When you really push thing to the floor it literally feels like the front wheels are lifting a little that you're hanging on and being pulled along. It's pretty incredible when testing out the torque and hp gauges. Track mode also takes off 70% traction control I believe and allows more power where as sport mode only reduces traction to 30% and less torque. I've never liked cars before I got my 09 and then I couldn't help but by the latest hyperblack when they said they stopped making them and dealers were put of stock putting the last couple up $25k over msrp. photos.app.goo.gl/61H4USMC4xS5sgEw8
Got pulled over by this beast on the Hume in my STi 🙈 I always overtook people slowly but that time it was at night and that car was dark red, I thought "why isn't this blocky car entering the highway but just sitting there" as I rushed past him 🙈 big mistake and I will never forget the sound of that Hemi engine pulling up behind me ever
Straight line speed doesn't meen shit mate, picture if it were chasing something half the weight, with same brakes threw the streets of Sydney,Stop Go,sharp turns,I think it will either experience brake fade ,or understear with the weight behind it. However, long highway style roads,I agree with you.
@@billolsen5401 hence why it's a highway patrol vehicle.... The SRTs are mostly assigned to freeways and major highways. The BMW's are assigned everywhere else. When it comes to tight turns and streets, it really comes down to who's the better driver, the cop or the crook... It's too dangerous to use a light car, the cops tried the wrx when it first came out as a chase car, and it was getting rammed off the road by commodores/falcons etc, because it was too light, and many officers were dying.
I was fortunate to be taken for a quick ride in one of these beasts bloody spine tingling listening to all that horsepower and the sound coming out of the exhaust
Yet another vehicle you get to enjoy in Australia but we don't in the US. A few municipalities in AZ have the Charger Scat Pack which is essentially the same as this vehicle and no less intimidating.
Meh. The Dodge charger looks SO much better. The Chrysler has a nicer interior and slightly more rear headroom. But the dodge has a nicer exterior except for the door handles. Chrysler just needs ti get there shit together and make a perfect car
Spot on. The CHRYSLER 300C has individual styling and doesn't look like all those other ugly 'clone-cars' (or should that read 'clown-cars') on the road. That HEMI note cannot be duplicated or imitated due to combustion chamber design. I LOVE my HEMI.
Trevor Rogers 300c's are anything but individual in styling, They're a poor attempt at copying a Bentley. Had they been built with at least Lexus quality they might've got the target market, not gang bangers & pimps! Love that Hemi sound!
I had three go past me once, probably doing 90kmh in a 50 zone with their lights on. I was standstill at traffic lights and they shook my car massively from driving past
I love that my car sounds like that. But I think mine sounds better than the cop version as they don't have track mode in that CORE model whereas track mode is insane going through the gears.
1:23. . OK. . The cop car was amazing. . But HOLY SHIT!! Check out the price of Unleaded petrol at that United servo. . ONLY $1.37 per litre!!! FRIGGIN' *AMAZING!!*. . . You don't see THAT any more!!
Is that rhd ? Is it police package? Why does Australia get Chrysler 300s (non police package I assume)instead of (off the shelf police package)Chargers?Enquiring minds want to know
Bummer. I nearly got the last core in the country at dealers but couldn't do it. I figured it I'm paying for it I need that adaptive steering and suspension in track mode and I'm so glad I did. The track steering is one of my favourite parts of driving this car. Very different from sport.
Cops do 160,000 kmph in these in just over a year and then a place in Melbourne resells them at the old retail price asking $65k for them. Hilarious. Hard to find these priced right now. Insurance won't even cover the price I paid for my flagship
Atleast the headlights on the SRT and the BMW's are distinct and recognisable, Back when the cops drove Falcons and Commies I had not idea who tf was flying up behind me.
Which is why Queensland police did not want them after trialling them, and opted for the Kia Stinger, which by the way is faster than any V8, handles better, and more reliable,
this sound almost break my heart 01:23 I am going to purchase poor holden commodore 2007-2009 with ls2 or ls3, I know it's sound will not be same as hemi engine but I can't find manual v8 sedan
I heard a highway patrol copper stopped a Maseratti just so he could talk to him about his car. The copper was parked waiting for speeders and said he could hear his car coming for miles. They have a beautiful exhaust note as well. Story is probably bs but the exhaust note isn't.
I noticed the copper did not indicate as he was overtaking also when he was speeding up behind the camera car he didn't have his lights on highly illegal, just because he's a police officer does not give him the right to speed it's illegal to speed unless he has his lights on for an emergency
I heard one of these from my hotel room on Friday night heading south out of Dubbo at full tilt boogie. OH MY GOD. 6.4 litres of pure evil. I want one.
@@rodpalmer4652 they have 1 year contract left then they are moving on. Chrysler aren't making them anymore for Australia. You can't get this brand new anymore on Australia other than the couple that dealers have put vinyl on and put price up $25k over retail. The flagship ones are rarer than the PACER models they made. The pacers have 50 cars made for Australia. The srt flagship have 200 made a year to be shared between 16 countries. But yea no more cops buying these after this year and they will quickly be taken out of sight as you can find them for sale everywhere being only 1.5yrs old with 160,000km on the clocks. These core models have horrible interior too so the scum trying to sell these 2019 core with everything falling apart and 160k on clock for $65k is insane as that's price of the retail before they stopped building them. $75k for flagship.
Drive/Ride that stretch of road regularly. Would be great if the HWP did some insecure load checks and clamped down on the people who speed up 20km/h+ when they hit the overtaking zones. So frustrating but they only seemed focused on straight out speeding. Guess it's easier to ping speeders than it is to do something about the real scourges on roads like the Princes.
Had a mustang try to show off while I was driving careful off the lights. Had him in no time at all. Love my 392 😍. The Mustang GT might be a different story - serious power.
Because they are police and that’s how it’s done, do you suggest give the speeding driver time to turn off before the cop gets a visual? Stupid comment.
@@pub6023 they’ve got the plate number, they’ve got the speed so why do they need to do double the speed limit to catch up to them maybe do 50 over but they’re on a power trip, so they push it to the limit
Vultures. Does sound mint tho rippin thru the gears.. Im not sure if hitting 6th doin 180km/h was worth the prey... tho u never know, some corolla drivers these days are crazy, probs doin easy 12 kays over the speed limit. Nice catch!
I hate it at night. Cars slow to a crawl and bikes sit up straight. I have to light up a smoke to let everyone know it's okay to continue driving normally
Yeah you can. Poor police don't have the suspension and steering the SRT Flagship has. Makes the difference. But then the police lights and siren and permission probably outdrives me all day
Sound like they havent been married long, but they are definitely married. Was half expecting a "shut up darl" followed by her coming back with "go fuck yaself loser". Yeah the hemi sounded alright.
Car sounds good but honestly how fast would he have been going, like I get he was trying to catch up to someone but why are cops allowed to drive like that, where I live there's a blue Chrysler HWP and he's always flooring it around for absolutely no reason, arrogant bastard too
