The ancient Egyptians didn't look at them as 'Black Pharaohs". They were simply Pharaohs. The concept of Black and white was created by Europeans.

Don't ever let someone else tell your history. They don't know it, so they tell it the way they want it to be, not the way it really was. Sometimes they even push you out of your history and claim it for themselves.

Oh my they are such spirited people. I pray Sudan find lasting peace.

Interesting but one correction needs to be made. He talks about the Nubians adopting the Egyptian culture. A fact that you never hear of (I wonder why), is that when Nubian artifacts were being collected before the construction of the Aswan dam, after which they would have been under water, they found that the roots of Egyptian culture existed in Nubia 600 years before the first Egyptian dynasty.

Why he says African Pharaohs? Like Egypt is not in Africa .

Eurocentric researchers always try and isolate Egypt from the rest of Africa, (hence most of their conclusions purposely do not make a lot of sense). You cannot fully understand a great ancient civilization like Egypt until you have acknowledged and understood how people migrated across Africa. Knowledge of geometry, rituals, and architecture was not randomly formed in Egypt but was a result of a lot of cultures across Africa crossing paths and learning from each other. I am from Southern Africa and we grew up on stories of how our forefathers would be sent to different African Kingdoms, not just to trade but to teach and also learn. There is an ancient city discovered in Southern Africa and using a method of (calculating the rate of Dolerite erosion) which the city walls are made of, researchers came to the conclusion that the ancient city is around 200 000 years old. On the city walls they found an Anka - symbol of an Egyptian god, this place is the oldest site its been found on so far. It's not a lot of things puzzling about Egypt or any other ancient African civilizations, confusion is brought about by researchers who want to twist African history and insert their non existent contributions to ancient African civilizations. Eurocentrics would rather have us believe that extra-terrestials (something they have zero proof of) built the pyramids before they can acknowledge that Africans built Africa.

They look so happy, so stress-free at that wrestling match! No cellphones, no cars, very little automation! The people and the earth that's all. How refreshing!

This documentary is more based on the man's journey instead of the Pharaohs and what they have achieved and how. It is so vague and praises colonial generals mostly.

This may be a travel log of David Adams (as some below have complained) but damn, what a wonderful way to visit Sudan without actually going. It was delightful and I enjoyed it enormously. I don't have an adventurous soul so of course I admire those that do.

It's so sad that you had to go through this hard journey to see ancient treasures that should have been treated better by governments and ease approaching their .. We sudanese are so frustrated with how all governments never cared about tourism and appreciate our history. So sad but yet you seemed you enjoyed it 💞

Our German friends in Australia hosted him, then he went to New Zealand, and some very close friends hosted him outside of Auckland add he came and went, exploring New Zealand. His name was Oliver but we called him Ollie. I wonder if it's the same man? It's so long ago now...

The AFRICAN Pharoahs of ancient Kemet is how the title should read.

"you'd think you're in Mexico" lol, goes to show how little westerners know about Africa. It's a big beautiful continent full of rich history. A lot of different kingdoms/pharaohs but Eygpt has the most preserved artifacts which is why we hear so much about them.

I missed my second country Sudan, specially the very friendly Sudanese people. Before I left to Cairo in 1984, I have seen the Derwishes dancing near Muhammed Ahmed Mahdi's tomb in Omdurman, and sometimes at Abu Jinzir near Cinema Coleseum in central Khartoum.

Amazing, I crossed this desert in 1984 by train from Khartoum to Wadi Halfa, from Wadi Halfa by ship on Lake Nasser to Aswan, from Aswan by train to Cairo.

Watching this made me sit back and think about how you could see the love and respect black people have for one another and how they respected the traveler and how the traveler respected them. No racism present! What a wow moment. I know that was not what this doc is about but it felt so good seeing it. Sharing food, Sharing a ride, Staying at people home business. Watching their traditions and not standing out but watching and taking pictures. Getting on people's boats and them getting you safely to your next destination. Black people made it happen with caring and dignity and the traveler show gratitude and was able to bring us this doc that he worked his butt off to make it happen. Thank you for sharing this. Your dates on the Pyramids of "Egypt" is incorrect. They are more like 20k years old and they were used as power plants to speed up and improve the rotation of the earth. Also the Sphinx was not originally built with a human head. It was originally built with the head of Anubis (dog head). Facts: the current head is out of proportion with the rest of the body, and the monument faces the star system Sirius (dog star). A later pharaoh Kufu replaced the head of Anubis and placed his head on the monument. You only have to look any of the depictions of Anubis in the ancient hieroglyphs....... Also this land was never known as "Egypt" during the lives of the 1st dynasties of the pharaohs, it was known as Kemet. After the invasion of the Arabs from Mesopotamia in the 6th century A.D. , the name of the city was changed to Egypt. Leading to the faces on the monuments, statues, and artworks of the original rulers being changed having more Arab and European features. These are facts that can be easily found by just doing a little independent research. Facts matter and original history matters. Once you change or alter the history of a people, you also rob them of the knowledge of their greatness. "To know your history is to realize your greatness."............ Class dismissed
