I absolutely love Brass: Birmingham, This game looks amazing to me. I haven't heard of it before finding your channel. Love the channel and your take on games. I've ordered this one now because of your reviews.
Great video, John. I am eagerly waiting for my copy to arrive. I heard what you said about the Mautoma for Brass, and I would advise you to try it. It is one of the best solo implementations I’ve seen so far. I believe it is better than any solo mode of a Martin Wallace game I have ever tried.
I have tried it, and even printed out all of the cards to make it work. It is very well implemented but for whatever reason I did not give it a third or fourth try after playing a couple of times. I think that is just a me problem.
@@JohnLaRuffa I’ve tried the Mautoma in all possible configurations, and the best one is the 2 player map on Lancanshire. Try it again. You won’t regret it.
Snagged my copy from Game Nerdz early this morning! There were 25 copies, and now there are 6 (as of 3:18 pm Pacific time). This will sell out within 24 hours, no doubt. Glad I got it!
From what I've read, it's a hybrid of Brass Birmingham and Barrage. Never played those, but it's a Turczi and Luciani team-up, so this is a must-buy for me. Luciani has never let me down. Turczi has, once or twice, however, but Luciani has always been on a winning streak for me. @@JohnLaRuffa

Thanks i was waiting for this. Ordered today in place of age of innovation. For Solo perspective i already get Arborea, Path of Civilsation and Shipyard from Essen 23. I already test Shipyard, solo approved, but the game show he's a old 14 years man.
Hey John, great presentation. I do have a question, do you feel this game has a take-that aspect to it? If so, what would you compare it to (Barrage, etc.)?
Not really. Barrage you could divert the water away from your opponent and towards here. In this game, you can build in places with your rails and buildings and turbines that others might want, but I would not call that a take that feel. I feel like it is more of a first come first served situation. You cannot take uranium out of other peoples mines either, nor can you power their buildings. I hope that helps.
I’m really interested in this one. Thank you for the review. But I’m just a bit worried about the playtime. For solo, on average how long is the set-up / tear down? And the game length?
In my experience, the whole thing including setup and tear down will be about 3 hours. Maybe after 10 games, you could drop it to 2 hours once you have mastered everything.
