What a fantastic blast of a book this is, totally mind-blowing in a fabulous innovative way. We need children to be able to think outside of the box, to question and inquire, to be curious, to absorb knowledge and explore the world around them without limitations. Yes, learning is important but it should also be exciting. The way this book uses the classic nursery rhymes and then dives in to geography, biology, science and philosophy and then introduces the rhythmical rhyme is incredibly engaging. The language used will spark the readers imagination and expand their thinking process. Each nursery rhyme encompasses a different focus eg. 'Humpty Dumpty' and hypothesising and experimenting, 'Holly Humpty' and emotional resilience, 'Itsy Bitsy Tortoise' and evolution, 'Jack and Jill' and natures water cycle as well as logic, 'Old Macdonald" and the brain. The author has very cleverly based each rhyme to include fundamental educational and developmental notions and along side them produced the most magnificent illustrations.
