#MetalDetecting
About Nugget Noggin:
Hey! I'm Michael, I love to get outdoors and discover awesome things
with my metal detector. I started treasure hunting when I was 12 years
old and shortly after received my first metal detector. Since then, I've
been hooked and just love going out to search for the unknown. You
may see me in the woods crawling under an old house or diving down
in the river to search for rings. Wherever the adventure brings us, I'll try
my best to keep you entertained.

Hey...DON'T knock that White's detector......I've had mine since the 70's and it is still adding to my EXTENSIVE civil war collection! I'd put it up against any detector out there!

A nail to hold the coil. I reckon that's why it was in the woods. The owner probably thought it was broken since he wasn't finding anything after putting the nail in.

Michael Futch why are making fun of a somebody that mistyped one letter in spelling when you intentionally added commas where they didn't belong? And why would you assume somebody was liberal especially since you're the foul mouth child acting like one?

Michael Futch grow up. Like was said you're the one acting like a liberal and you can't even punctuate a sentence correctly. Grow up. Oh,I'm far from a liberal.

That detector was not cheap for it's time late 70's, $200-$300 unfortunately they weren't water proof, so the electronics are probably scrap by now after being left out in the elements for any time. Still a very interesting find.

Nice videos. That "pot metal" key goes with that tag from the bank. The key went to a safe deposit box. The insurance through F.D.I.C was up to $100K per box

@mtndewlover21 ha, well where is the site located then, who ever lost it didnt know much about metal detecting, you can put a metal nail in the shaft to hold up the coil, no wonder they threw it out, it would beep the entire time , lol.

Perhaps the coinmaster got abanded because the previous owner couldn't be bothered with using something non metal as a replacement hinge? I can't imagine anybody replacing that pin with something IRON and still being able to detect anything.

A blast from the past. Wonder how many empty holes that fella dug for the nail? Ha, 7 years later and your still enjoying the hunt. Very neat. From what I could make of the plaque sounded like the cemetary held some charished workers to the family who they worked for. Maybe some day they'll do some ground penetration and put some decent markers there for them. Have a great weekend and God bless.

had a really old, cheapy detector a while back with a broken stem. fixed it with duct tape, hard wood slivers and hose clamps. i turned it on and its screaming like nobody's business and no matter what knob i turn it won't stop. wasn't til i junked it, bought an ace 350 and saw half the stem was plastic that i learned the field on a coil goes up as well as down.

Those old TR units can see right through iron trash, just saying. Used an old Compass TR for about 10 years and it would run circles around any VLF in high iron trash areas, especially around old burned down houses with lots of rusty nails in the ground.

I always joke when people ask me what's the strangest thing I ever found. I always say another metal detector but you actually found one?! Lmbo
@scottfirman
@scottfirman 8 лет назад
my first detector was a Garrett's coin shooter or something to that name, but it made a sound like a cash register when you found coins. It was light and simple but lacked depth, I used to fill coffee cans with change at the local highschool courtyard. I actually got tired of bending over to pick up coins. I bought a Fisher CZ6 that was really good at locating indian head pennys. I almost filled an entire coin book with that detector. The one I have now is also a Fisher but is pretty much like the first Garrett I owned. The headphone jack no longer works so I have to use it speaker only ( which I hate) I have no idea why. I should send it in for repair ( Fisher has a life time warrentee).

So the big dumb obvious question is if you try returning the tag for fun - money kind of ruins the fun of finding things but it'd be a thrill to get those crazy moments - like finding a metal detector lol (Still can't believe they left it)

i think my best day of coin finds is a touch under 30, if i find 4 coins a hour i normally happy and in my coin hot spot i aim to get 20 in 2 hours if i lucky. that coinmaster i would rank as a great find, i know it may not work to well but a good electric engineer may get it going. putting a nail in the coil a bit of stupid idea, but maybe done as a last resort in the field?

I appreciate you and other metal detecting enthusiasts for taking the time and trouble to do these videos. That metal detector you found may have been left intentionally. I get frustrated, but not to that point. You see I'm not too experienced, but I'm going tomorrow with an experienced friend with my Ace 250. I have been watching yours and others videos as motivation. I live in southern Louisana. Any tips from you or others on the Ace 250 or hunting areas appr3eciated.

LOL @ 'Guess he gave up on this cheap thing..' Bro, White's was TOP of the line in the time that model was manufactured, and they remain top of the line 30 years later, LOL! I can see how you would feel that way though, It's not exactly packed with features. BTW, it was probably given up on because of the nail. Top of the coil is just as sensitive as the bottom. I can only imagine the falsing it was producing. Get a plastic bolt and wing nut/washer combo @ Home Depot. Nice vid! Nice finds!
