If AD and Bam's greatest strengths are at the defensive ends, what does that tell you about Jokic? He's absolutely dominated those matchups averaging a 30 point triple double on ridiculous efficiency, not to mention 6-1 against them. Defense in today's nba is vastly overrated because of how good players have become offensively, there's only so much you can do defensively now.

Shannahan has no qbs almost every year and somehow goes deep in the post season. Harbaugh had a top 5 talent and is a defensive coach and can't go deep in the post season and defence is usually average these days.

So Bucher is saying AD and Bam are as good as Jokic because of their defense? Bam scored points in game 3 but he was very inefficient. Also Jokic shot 11 for 14 and scored 31 points in the first half when they left AD 1 on 1 against him. His defensive prowess is not enough to even try to take Jok 1 on 1

Aaron Gordons grandfather is a 7 foot tall native American. It don't get more American than that and that dude is as selfless as it comes. He bought in and trusts Jokic as the superstar despite being a team leader himself in Orlando. Great dude. Sure we had lots of kids who obsessed over being Kobe and Jordan but there was also a lot of kids like me who wanted to be Rodman. We can add flash to being a hardnosed tough dude who fights for every rebound and lays out for loose balls. It's just the Jordan and Kobe kids get all the shine and attention over here but anyone who knows will tell you those kids don't do anything without Rodman and Pippen kids backing them up. Just saying. It's more of a media problem than a culture problem if you ask me. You guys need to spread the love out more instead of just hyperfocusing on the stars for clicks. Teams know by now, sure they need a star but if you're building a team you're also going to need the Draymonds, Rodman's and Pippens. You guys in the media need to recognize that too and give them their flowers.

Jokic is low key strong as fk, he just doesn’t look like Dwight Howard. Bucher is one of the WOAT in sports. He hasn’t voted once for Jokic to win MVP so now he has to make these HORRID Jokic takes! Nuggets lost Game 2 (and the reason they’re not up 3-0 vs 2-1) bc MJP KCP are horrid from 3! They’re 5-26 this series when normally they’d be 10-26 to 13-26 somewhere! Jokic is now the only player EVER to lead all playoffs (single run) in total POINTS ASSISTS REBOUNDS Also number 1 by far in this playoffs PER, Win Shares, BPM, WS/48, Net rating of the best players and virtually every analytic you can come up with! He just finally has a healthy team around him with more depth then before!

To say that Jokic is what he is because of Malone is a bit extreme Jokich obviously improved as a player since he entered the NBA, but was it the coaches who were responsible for the improvement in Jokic's game or did he merely grow and mature as a player like many players do. Of course most players don't go from a second round draft pick to being one the greatest players of all time, but there's no way to substantiate such a claim. Would you say that Tom Brady is what he is because of Bill Bellicheck? I wouldn't... but it's not to say that Bill Bellicheck doesn't deserve any credit for recognizing a talent that all the other teams over looked. But that's a pretty lame statement to throw around and there are a hundred other phrases you could say to give the coach props in that relationship.

The NBA still has a talent evaluation problem for a specific type of player. Jordan himself has publicly stated that the league collectively tries to stay as black as possible, cuz realistically there would be many more good White players. Jokic should have been a late lottery pick for any pro scouting department, but they see a slow White guy.

I've never seen a player get killed for his defensive shortcomings like Jokic. They never did it with Lebron, Curry or Durant. Jokic and Denver as a whole don't get the credit they deserve. And JMac is right about Malone building that culture. Bucher said Denver got knocked out last year by the Warriors, but didn't mention that MPJ and Jamal Murray were injured during that series. And Bucher also is wrong about that wcf with the clippers. Paul George was there averaging almost 30 points a game. Putting Ty Lue above Malone is laughable.

CP3 for Smart will probably go down as the worst trade idea from Colin. Celtics are already regressing defensively, dealing with an aging center and a departing Jaylen Brown, and the solution is to bring in a 38-year old? I believe Celtics will be a play-in team if they were to do this trade.
