Very helpful and informative. I’m looking to get the Hercules and this answered all my questions. I’ll use this controller for prep, back up, and playing music at my leisure. Perfect for book bag
I'm happy with the Numark DJ2Go touch. It's a great backup to my main one. I like that I can practice scratching and able to browse through my songs. It does for me what it suppose to do as a backup and something to practice with.
You missed the fact that you can't load tracks from the Starlight controller you have to use the laptop, but the Numark dj2go2 touch allows loading from the controller.
That is EXACTLY why I went for a DJ2GO2. I find it more useful to have a knob to scroll through the library and buttons to load tracks than I do having buttons for effects.
Thanks for the video man, Good idea about the bumpers, how did you made them or where to get them? Another thing about browser , you can browse with the Jogs, i don´t know if is a subfuntion of the controller or a mapping but i have seen it on some video.
The bumpers i used are those mini stick-on rubber footings. I got them extras from thin client PCs. As for the browser, i think some controllers do have functionalities for that, otherwise you may have to do some mappings.
I heard that for you to use the Numark with all its features you would have to purchase Serato DJ Pro even if you already purchased it for previous controllers. I think its crazy that numark makes you buy a new Serato subscription when you already have one. Is this the case for the Hercules controller? Can you use your existing Serato DJ Pro software?
Great comparison/ review. Bumpers awesome solution. I would like to replace the nobs for pitch and crossfader for Hercules unit. Is it hard to pull them off?
@@kitpag sent both mine back, coming from turntables after 20 years they just don't cut it. Vinyl is so much more satisfying and takes more skill. Great for beginners or someone who likes the digital age. But putting a vinyl on a technics 1200 turntable platter is one of life's pleasures haha
@@kitpag except not having to carry a thousand pounds of vinyl records in weight alone. Vinyl is like a CDJ without a display, it’s all the same principle and in the end, it’s a medium that is largely inaccessible by multiple factors including expense and a now limited selection of music. There’s a reason that even vinyl has been moved to digital through the advent of timecode and what-not.
