If memory serves that bit at the end when they are speaking about things being absurd they go on to say that SITA was the unofficial anthem of the IRA. Hand out the guns and ammo...

@1700DiGuy,. A lot different than now. Minimum wage was about $1.60 then. I'm from the Midwest/ Ohio. You got a job and stayed with it because we wanted a car, to go out with friends and date. A soda out of a machine was fifteen to twenty cents. I think a movie in the early 70's was about $1.25-$1.50. You might like this. I was going to summer school and living with my sister and her husband in a small city. One afternoon a buddy and I went a burger place called Red Barn. It was a chain that is no longer, they served actual piece of chicken. We each had a regular burger, each had a small drink, and shared a small fries for 97 CENTS TOTAL. We played outside a lot in 3 seasons, flew kites, fished, mowed our parents lawn. That was my first job, mowing lawn for the local church. Believe I got paid $2 and it was a fairly big lawn. Still went trick or treating to get candy, I walked six miles, in the country the last Halloween I went. Houses are spaced farther apart and have longer driveways, all to get candy. Sometimes the local church would have small parties. In general, we were kids. No cell phones, our home phone had a "party line" that you shared with maybe four or five other families. SO if they were using the telephone, you had to wait until they were done to make your telephone call. A lot less complicated. No computers-ANYWHERE! You dealt with people. Personal service. Much better. Hope this helps. All the best and may God bless.

@1700iDiGuy,. It was wonderful. Things were so much simpler then. Times were good, prices were very reasonable and there was plenty of work if you wanted it. People were so much kinder then to. There were problems, Vietnam was in full swing, Kent State shootings in May 4, 1970. Overall a great time to be alive. Great music.
