NIGHT OF THE NUN (2018) - A letter has arrived at your house under mysterious circumstances... your daughter has fallen ill at her boarding school. As you make a trip to pick her up, a storm blows in and the road is blocked. You continue on foot through the woods and all hell soon breaks loose...
Hide from the PSYCHOPATHIC nun at all costs! She hungers for BLOOD and you are the next course! Nothing could prepare you for a NUN MASSACRE! Terrifying ps1 style stealth horror.
Stealth horror gameplay. It's a DEADLY game of Hide and Seek!
5th gen graphics. It looks like a lost Playstation 1 game!

You got a bad ending, there are many endings - I ended up in a weird room with another “tiny nun”, I won’t spoil it if you play it again, but I escaped the building. It wasn’t easy, damn near 3hrs of fails. But I enjoyed this play through, you found places I didn’t see.

CJU starts up the mountain in search of his kid. A couple of grueling hours and several sherpas later, he spies a nun..."Hi, there. Is that a knife you've got??!" And so the mayhem begins. 😂 Is it wrong that the more frantic and anxious CJU gets the more I laugh? Another rollicking Puppet Combo game playthrough by Chris--the game has its flaws but it's oh so much fun to watch. 👍

This game is heavily inspired by 1977's Suspiria, the brightly coloured aesthetic, the barb wire pit - very much prominent in the Argento classic.

I've watched several playthroughs of this and *never* seen it take so long to get to the start of the building. Not sure if you missed something or others just edited that part but man I felt for you there.

I believe its because this is a remastered version of the original which starts you on the mountain and you dont have to walk far at all.

For sure… except he’s a gamer lol he loves the challenge and wouldn’t be giving up wether we are watching or not lol he’s the type of dude that would have to play to get to an actual “ending” anyway. He really deserves more subs.. and I’m commenting 2 years after you. It’s crazy to me how slept on he is. Honestly the reason mostly is bc he doesn’t stay on screen for the lps…. But he does that bc he wants us to have the best experience watching. Anyway.. promote the dude if you’re watching my other players!!! 😊

At 31:22 that squeaky toy noise went off at the exact same time I sat in my seat. I was looking around in confusion till you brought it up in the commentary. Had a good laugh after that. The "road" pathway at the start of the game, reminds me of the pathway I had to hike up a mountain trail after it rained a few days ago. How I survived is beyond me.... But ya, those roads are possible irl to actually cross.

If I remember correctly that shiny golden thing in the vent was the (spirit of?) Bongo the Clown. Same with the brief glimpses of the small figure walking in the hallways and the squeaky toy sounds you hear throughout.

I wouldn't call this terrifying, but it was very fun (except for the horrible descriptions of child abuse, of course). Thank you Chris for the heavy editing work, since I'm not sure the ending was worth a 3 hours playthrough, imho... Tbh, it seemed more fun to watch than to play :)

I do have some respect for the Puppet Combo games, but I do have some issues when it comes to their game. Mostly I really hate how when enemies like the Nun spots and begin to go after the player, they have to have music BLAST into your ears. It is the lazy JumpScare method and I just hate it.

I enjoyed Murderhouse (the only Puppet Combo game I've played thus far) but bloody hell were the CRT effects obnoxious (I appreciate what they were going for stylistically) and the music was deafening (had to turn it way down).

I also hate the jumpscares in their games, they're just disgustingly loud. The presence of a threat is normally startling enough without the need to completely deafen the player. I feel genuinely sorry for anyone who plays wearing headphones.

I absolutely love it. I think it’s such an effective, cool thing to have the enemy scream at YOU, especially the horrifying way the nun screams. I think it’s so much scarier

@@Michele1ELLagreed… it works perfectly with their style of games.. it’s completely intentional and designed to constantly scare the shit out of you and it also distracts you for a bit bc there’s a jump scare screaming in your face lol I just think for these types of games it is the only thing that makes sense… most games are going away from that kind of jump scares … so just feels authentic for these games and why they became such cult classics

All endings when? Also, looking at how stupidly unfair some death endings are and how far it's placed within the progression of the game really giving off some a*shole vibe from the developer of this game. Shout out to you that's able to go till the end through out those unfairness

It's hilarious how instead of a cut scene we just basically either teleported or experience lost time / glitch in the matrix type deal but we or some one or some thing else drove there. And for some reason the letter was on the vehicle. Some other rather funny / horrifying parts like the nun vomiting blood on you.

With so many things to do, this game really needed a save point or so, and/or maybe a slightly bigger inventory. Amazing perseverance Chris. I imagine it must have been frustrating.

Wow. They really nailed the texture warping and vertex shaking of the PSX. That's pretty impressive. The only thing it needs is a lower color count and ordered dithering.

I've beaten this a few times now and It's not bad once you get used to the mechanics and memorise the layout of the building even though I always get lost and confused sometimes, you can even make the game more difficult in the start menu although I'm not masochistic enough to try it 😅
