The cup holders are removable, you open them up and then pull up on the cup part. The only part left behind is the hinge

I have this car seat and I absolutely love it! I love how easy it is to install. I just wanted to mention 2 things. 1. Is that even though it has a true tension door, you still need to make sure your seatbelt is locked. When we had our car seat install checked by a professional, he told me that I did not need to lock my seat belt because of the true tension door. I argued with him because it states in the manual that the seatbelt needs to be locked. And 2 the side impact pods. I was also informed that the side against the door is the only side that should be used. If you use the middle, you shouldn’t use either side. I double checked the manual and it also states it in there. I also have a Graco 4ever and I find it so difficult to use compared to the Rava.

Krista Moretz this is the carseat I will have for my new baby and now I'm going to read the manual. Not that I wasn't going to... but I definitely would have popped the two impact sides out. Can't wait to read the manual. Thank you!!

Thanks for all the info momma! You’re absolutely correct, you do need to lock the seatbelt! It’ll be all wobbly if not!

Do you find the tightening strap on the Nuna is quite short as your little one gets bigger? We noticed it’s significantly shorter than other car seats we looked at

Yes it is! But still plenty enough to grab and tighten!

I thought the infant insert is only the black part behind the insert you just pulled apart from the car seat. Thats the only thing that says for infants between 5-11 pounds should be taken off. I have this car seat and still use the insert and she’s 23 pounds and 1 year 5 months I feel like if I take it out, she will be too low in the seat, with the insert she looks more comfortable

We just got a Rava and love it. Easy to install and easy to adjust the recline. Only issue I have with the seat is the decision to place the warning print right on the back cover. The print is not breathable and causes our baby's back to get sweaty. I do not understand why they choose to place it there when it could be on the side.

I’m torn between this one and the Nuna that revolves, but I’m afraid my daughter will outgrow the revolving Nuna sooner than she’s ready for a booster. That 40-65 lb period could mean I’d have to purchase two more car seats if I get the revolving Nuna. We’ve had the chicco keyfit travel system and loved it! I’m taking your advice (from your comments section haha) in choosing the Nuna over the chicco convertible. Was gonna choose the chicco cleartex before this vid. What do you think?

Even after all these years the Rava is still the easiest install car seat I’ve ever came across! I would choose it over most. The only one I would hesitate to choose it over is the one we have now which is the Evenflo Revolve and that’s because it swivels. So when rearfacing, it’s super conviennent. But other than that, Rava all day long!

Hi! Awesome review!!! I do wanted to ask if you think you would had prefer having the Nuna Rava since your baby was a newborn or if you prefer a separate infant carseat for an easy travel system. thanks so much!

Thank you!! I would say it depends. Everyone prefers something different and I believe the climate you live in also plays a role. I live in the Midwest in the US so we have lots of cold months. For that reason I like having babies in the infant carrier. I don’t have to bring them out in the elements and I know they’ll stay warm inside there. It’s just really convenient for us. So at first I do prefer infant carriers!

My greco extend has the non rethread buttons and omg im so excited for it for my sonm my daughters seat had to be the cheapest one i could buy when she was little cause i couldnt afford much and threading it constantly is a pain in the ass. However now she is about to be upgraded to a disney highback i found on amazon that is a 5point harness and then can be used as a normal highback till shes 100lbs and i will be doing that on her 4th birthday only because i have a tall girl and shes outgrowing her seat and its gonna be unsafe for her soon. The high back one i saw in a story about a car accident that was like a can crushed and the seat didnt bend or budge and saved the boys life. Im a big advocate for safety in carseats even if i never get in an accident i feep better for those you never know moments

I see that you have the rava in slate color (love the color) but looks aside, what do you think about the color, does it get easily dirty? Is it easy to clean? I just bought the rava online and I was going back and forth between slate and caviar (got the slate, but I can still return) ... thanks

I think it's held up really well. Our kids don't eat or drink in the car so there's not too much to cause a mess in the seat but what has happened was easy to clean up. Anything on it came out in the wash and we washed it just exactly how the manual instructed so nothing special. Like I mentioned in the review, getting the cover on and off is difficult but that'll be the case no matter the color. And I also think that minor inconvenience is worth the safety features it offers.

@Momma, what's your opinion on Rava vs 360 Revolve? I'm undecided between the two and see that you've had both. What do you think?

I'd take the Revolve any day! The Nuna is very nice and the car seat belt install has yet to be beat by any other seat in terms of easy install. But the Revolve just has so many features we use on a daily basis and almost half the price of the Nuna!

I bought the evenflo revolve 360 (haven't used it), but was disappointed that it cannot recline in forward facing as I wanted this feature for long trips with my toddler. I'm struggling to decide between the two. How helpful do you find this feature? I don't think revolve has it...

Hey I heard you mention that you wish the cup holders could be removed. You CAN remove them! Or at least on the one I just purchased, you can completely pull up and remove them.

I see you have a review of the chicco nextfit. Which do you like better, the chicco nextfit or the nuna rava?

Rava! Far easier install with the seat belt, slimmer, lighter and a bit better quality in my opinion. Although we do still love the Chicco, the Rava just executes better!

I’ve heard this car seat is really compact front to back. I’ve always heard the graco extend2fit is the most compact front to back (rear facing) I wonder if this is more compact front to back rear facing? 🤔

Do you think this will be better than the chicco nextfit max extended? It also goes up to 50lbs in rear facing mode.

That’s hard to say because I haven’t used that version of the Chicco. I will say if it’s not a complete redesign I would still go with the Nuna. The Chicco is bulkier. Our youngest is in the Chicco NextFit Zip and will be going into the third row of our SUV when our third is due but the Chicco is too bulky rear-facing back there. For that reason we’re buying her a Nuna that does fit comfortably even with a seat in front of it!

I currently have s graco 4 ever but my daughters head always hangs when she falls asleep so I’m looking into purchasing this as our other car seat. Can someone PLEASE let me know whether the money is worth it? Will my daughters head hang? Thank u and I appreciate all responses!

Do you mean hang forward? That may happen sometimes regardless of whatever seat you have. If you’re buckling her in and making sure straps are in the correct position and tightness, it’s okay for her to do that. It looks uncomfortable but if it truly is, they’ll get up and move. I don’t think any seat would make it so she doesn’t hang forward. Maybe try more of recline position

This is why I HATE graco. I was a maxi cosí fan before I was convinced to get graco and the way my son’s heads hangs KILLS me lol I just bought the rava and I don’t expect to have this issue as I didn’t with my son’s infant or previous convertibles.

The Nuna Pipa! I personally love an infant car seat. I know some go straight to convertible but I’ve always enjoyed the ease of the infant carrier!

Hi , I'm currently looking at getting this car seat but I've heard the strap at the crotch area is too short . Does it make the baby uncomfortable

There’s actually two different lengths for it and we never had to use the longer one. Even for our kiddo who is in the 90+ percentile for height. The crotch buckle shouldn’t rest on their belly and we never had an issue with fit on it with our 3 different kiddos!

We no longer do since our middle daughter when to a harnessed booster but it was holding up great after 2+ years of use. We did choose to get our infant the Sirona S convertible instead of using this one because of the convenient swivel + additional safety features!

It doesn’t ): they caught on and Nuna is one of those companies that doesn’t really allow sales on their products. I have seen sales at Nordstrom on their car seats periodically though!
