Gloria's fine - with shades of "Sur le pont d'Avignon" - and does anyone else hear "Swanee River" at the start of the Nunc?? However, if you really want a spine-tingling doxology, try Stainer in Bb in a big acoustic! It's available on Spotify sung by the Abbey Choir at Tewkesbury complete with 7 second echo and trebles giving top Bb the treatment...

I absolutely adore the solo clarinet that comes out from the choir dying away in bar 19, dropping down the scale for the choir to come back in with a minor moment. Honestly, if I die listening to this piece, I would die with a smile on my face. I love every single moment of it.

a great setting of the mag and nunc. the gloria is amongst the finest written - a real riot to sing. up there with howells col reg.
