Just listened to it again. Wow! Definitely one of my desert island discs. John's is THE greatest choir. Thank God for George Guest and his successors.

Written with orchestra for the annual celebration of The Corporation of the Sons of the Clergy at S. Paul's Cathedral. I remember it being sung (plus orchestra) at S. Alban's Holborn, London in 1974. Amazing, especially the trumpets in the Nunc.
