Proprietary switches and no wireless at all on a barebones $200 keyboard is just kind of insane, imo. This shouldn't lack any features commonly found on $75 keyboards.

If you think that’s bad check out the Lofree Flow 84 and 100. Extremely expensive for a severe lack of basic features.

The fact that it’s not wireless is a dealbreaker for being LP
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo Месяц назад
For many, I think you’re right (likely the majority) but I also know quite a few people who just like LP keyboards because they have grown up typing on laptops and haven’t yet been bit the high-profile bug. In their case, they don’t care about wireless. Though, I totally agree that this is a much smaller fanbase. I suspect we will see a Nos75 V2 with wireless within a year if the market likes it otherwise.

@@JakeReevesVideo Gotta give credit where credit is due though - Nuphy has propelled LP via air 75 and now this. Battery tech is a bit of bottleneck - if you look at big brands like Logi or Asus, their batteries last like 5x sometimes 10x as long. I would still pick up G515 over this for wireless but this is more premium having custom aesthetics

Looks and sounds great, but for a wired only barebones keyboard the price is completely ludicrous.

Wired only is a plus for me. That equals longevity. I don't have to worry about a rechargeable battery swelling and blowing up a few years from now.

Hey Jake, just a thought, I feel like the swoosh sound effect at the beginning of the video is a bit misplaced. I think it is a bit more appropriate for a short form video. At the end of the day you can do what you want lol its subjective, but I just felt like sharing. Cool video though I was waiting for the review of this KB to be recommended to me.

It doesn't implement the 75% layout properly too.. There's no end key.. 🚶

Not sure if this one has the same issue with Air75 V2, which is when using BT or wireless connection, sometimes during typing, the keyboard will suddently went deadlocked, when that happened, the last key you stroke is kept being input until you switch off and on the keyboard again. Nuphy's solution is just to upgrade the RF part of Air75 V2, it requires a cell phone to do that. hopefuly not, I have never see such issue with my Keychron K2 Pro....
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo 13 дней назад
I haven’t run into that issue yet, either with this or the Air75 V2 that I have, but if I do, I’ll come back and report it here 👍🏻

Air 75v2 typist here. I personally find the same thing with BT between Win11 and MacOS devices.

If this was HE maybe I could see the price, but not for wired mechanical keyboard.

Wired only low profile keyboard doesn't make sense. The biggest pro for low profile is the portability. Keeping it wired only and heavy doesn't work towards that goal and just pitted it against regular keyboards

Unless you prefer low-profile + wired for a desktop setup? This keyboard seems right up my alley

but do you find that it is hard to find the arrow key without always having to take a look? i haven't figured out a hack to avoid making this mistake.

Can’t say I’ve run into this - but I try a lot of keyboards, so I suspect I am adapted to it. Likely took some getting used to.

Great video! Just curious, what is the thickness of the plate in this board? Is it the standard 1.5mm or is it 1.2mm like with the choc switches?

The price is unjustifiable in the current mech market, low profile or not. Get a Lofree Flow for a nicer sound and wireless capabilities. 200 bucks for a wired keyboard is just bananas.
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo Месяц назад
I have the flow as well (and plan on sharing a review of the Flow Lite soon). The sound is comparable - but the Nos75 has an edge both in terms of sound and modifiable. I totally agree that it’s quite expensive though. The one justification it has is that nothing else offers a comparable platform for modification, so I’m not sure it’s fair to equate it to the Flow. Each is targeted at different groups - not to say that the Flow isn’t a better overall deal, it likely is, especially if you value wireless communication.

What’s your recommendation for which nuphy keyboards are best for productivity? I’m a student who does programming and productivity.
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo Месяц назад
Any are good for productivity and standard desk work. It’s more a question of 1) do you want low-profile or high-profile, and 2) how passionate are you about tinkering with your keyboard, taking it apart to modify, etc.? If you are only interested in the keycap and switch variation, then their Halo V2 and Air V2 are good options. I quite like the Halo V2 personally - it’s currently my work-office keyboard when I’m not testing others.
@Namu4Life
@Namu4Life Месяц назад
@@JakeReevesVideo I have both the Halo75 V2 and Air75 V2 at home. They are unopened right now and I was just wondering if they’re good for productivity compared to other Nuphy Keyboards.
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo Месяц назад
They are - the Nos and Gem are both higher-end options because they employ the Omni-Mount system, but if that isn’t important to you, I wouldn’t expect your productivity to be inhibited. Personally, I find the keycap profile most impacts my typing speed and feel, so I lean towards a higher profile and heavily sculpted keycap for best results for me. Good luck with the decision!

Done Right would be with 80% layout, not this ugly nonstandard 75%.

Price is a dealbreaker. This is a review that is justifying a partnership with NuPhy not a keyboard that is justified to be the price. Sorry.
