Nuphy’s Dynamic Keystroke has issues and has not received any communications if it will get resolved. The issue is when multiple keys are setup to also press and release another key. For example W, A, S, and D key are setup to also press the Shift key when fully pressed. With W key fully pressed, Shift key is also pressed. When another key, like D, is pressed and released, the Shift key is also released. This happens even when the W key is still fully pressed. This is an unexpected behavior, Shift key should still be pressed due to W key being fully pressed.
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo 15 часов назад
Interesting, not sure I ran into this. Just to clarify - if I configure A to be WASD, and I try holding down on shift at the same time, it will only recognize shift for the W, but not the ASD? Is that correct? I’d like to try replicating the issue

Not sure if this one has the same issue with Air75 V2, which is when using BT or wireless connection, sometimes during typing, the keyboard will suddently went deadlocked, when that happened, the last key you stroke is kept being input until you switch off and on the keyboard again. Nuphy's solution is just to upgrade the RF part of Air75 V2, it requires a cell phone to do that. hopefuly not, I have never see such issue with my Keychron K2 Pro....
@JakeReevesVideo

Thank you so much for this review. I was initially going to go with the Lofree but considering their switches (while better) us a different pin arrangements kind of kills it for me. I think if the lofree ever decided to release a v2 that has the Kailh switches with a normal pin arrangement, qmk/via support, adjustable feet and hopefully a European store (40 euro shipping fee really sucks) they could have an almost unbeatable low-profile keyboard on their hands. Until then though I think the Nuphy air75 v2 (or air 60 for that matter) will win out over the lofree in my book.

In relation to DyeSub vs Doubleshot. The doubleshot will shine fast as they have to blend PBT with ABS to ease the doubleshot process. So reality is the DyeSyb will look better longer as a pure PBT will take far longer to wear

Hey Jake, just a thought, I feel like the swoosh sound effect at the beginning of the video is a bit misplaced. I think it is a bit more appropriate for a short form video. At the end of the day you can do what you want lol its subjective, but I just felt like sharing. Cool video though I was waiting for the review of this KB to be recommended to me.

Thanks for the great comparison! It will be a difficult decision to make between the NuPhy Air and the LoFree Flow. While prefer almost each characteristics of the LoFree (design and sound of keys) I tend to go for the NuPhy as it is has the 2.4ghz connection donkle, which is probably the only reliable choice as I would use the keyboard for bit of gaming as well.

I’m a little lost. I just thought this stuff would save in the app. I don’t use any of this stuff. I am on an IPhone and bought this because the Notes app is also a little too complicated for me
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo 18 дней назад
You can still access it in the App as well; however, Rocketbook doesn’t want to store your data in their own servers (privacy implications), so instead, they give you options to save files to your own web-services. What this means though is that your files won’t carry over to the Rocketbook App on other devices or when you replace your phone.

The fact that it’s not wireless is a dealbreaker for being LP
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo 19 дней назад
For many, I think you’re right (likely the majority) but I also know quite a few people who just like LP keyboards because they have grown up typing on laptops and haven’t yet been bit the high-profile bug. In their case, they don’t care about wireless. Though, I totally agree that this is a much smaller fanbase. I suspect we will see a Nos75 V2 with wireless within a year if the market likes it otherwise.
@realbillgross
@realbillgross 19 дней назад
@@JakeReevesVideo Gotta give credit where credit is due though - Nuphy has propelled LP via air 75 and now this. Battery tech is a bit of bottleneck - if you look at big brands like Logi or Asus, their batteries last like 5x sometimes 10x as long. I would still pick up G515 over this for wireless but this is more premium having custom aesthetics

Huh? I am not sure if the system is excellent or plain weird (and cumbersome). I mean versus a bullet journal or Notify type system based on Keynotes layout. I have an ipad already and am considering testing this as backup. Walmart here in Canada is selling an open box of the 'Core black-lined' w/ black pen. Price is CAD28.66 + 5% sales tax in my province. Original price is CAD47.77 = USD33. This is 40% discount. But even at this promotional price am not so tempted to try it. At twenty bucks, maybe. Unless (and maybe even then) both the app and storage are are gratis, well, it seems expensive.
@rowan9047
@rowan9047 20 дней назад
The price is unjustifiable in the current mech market, low profile or not. Get a Lofree Flow for a nicer sound and wireless capabilities. 200 bucks for a wired keyboard is just bananas.
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo 20 дней назад
I have the flow as well (and plan on sharing a review of the Flow Lite soon). The sound is comparable - but the Nos75 has an edge both in terms of sound and modifiable. I totally agree that it’s quite expensive though. The one justification it has is that nothing else offers a comparable platform for modification, so I’m not sure it’s fair to equate it to the Flow. Each is targeted at different groups - not to say that the Flow isn’t a better overall deal, it likely is, especially if you value wireless communication.

Now all I need is a 100% or at the very least a 96% version with the hall effect sensors... preferably with the JIS layout so we can have a large left shift and a large ISO enter key. For some reason nobody is getting rid of the pointless duplicate keys in both ANSI/ISO layouts, only JIS comes close (sadly with a small backspace key instead but oh well). Please Keychron... -_-

What’s your recommendation for which nuphy keyboards are best for productivity? I’m a student who does programming and productivity.
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo 20 дней назад
Any are good for productivity and standard desk work. It’s more a question of 1) do you want low-profile or high-profile, and 2) how passionate are you about tinkering with your keyboard, taking it apart to modify, etc.? If you are only interested in the keycap and switch variation, then their Halo V2 and Air V2 are good options. I quite like the Halo V2 personally - it’s currently my work-office keyboard when I’m not testing others.
@Namu4Life
@Namu4Life 20 дней назад
@@JakeReevesVideo I have both the Halo75 V2 and Air75 V2 at home. They are unopened right now and I was just wondering if they’re good for productivity compared to other Nuphy Keyboards.
@JakeReevesVideo
@JakeReevesVideo 20 дней назад
They are - the Nos and Gem are both higher-end options because they employ the Omni-Mount system, but if that isn’t important to you, I wouldn’t expect your productivity to be inhibited. Personally, I find the keycap profile most impacts my typing speed and feel, so I lean towards a higher profile and heavily sculpted keycap for best results for me. Good luck with the decision!
