Safiye was the most unique of the “Great Sultanas “ she wasn’t as aggressive and made scenes like Hurrem or acted like a jealous girlfriend like Nurbanu or wanted to dominate everyone like Kosem, she was smart , cunning, knew when to shut up and when to speak and was always calm and collected with a Queen like aura . Also this actress looks like the adult version of Safiye 👍👍 well good casting choice
considering this was made before its spin-off (obviously), then the older Safiye was cast based off this one. Still an excellent casting choice ofc but it's the other way around
She didn't need to act like a jealous girlfriend because Murad was all hers 😂And she knew that even if he slept with women, they would have nothing on her
@@hussainsultanzada6123 She might not get jealous of other women but she was of Nurbanu. It was well known at the time that the empire was governed by 2 sultanas. Till Nurbanu neutralized the second focus of power represented by Safiye and took the absolute control again. Things got so messed up that when Murad heard that Agha of Janissaries fomented the Janissaries as well as the spais (Spahis) of the Porte against him, he dismissed the Agha of leisure and Nurbanu also convinced him to dismiss Vizier Sinan Pasha as well who long ago paid homage to Safiye. Since Safiye joined the fray of power, collaborating with but often acting again Nurbanu and her allies.
Historically speaking safiye stayed loyal to nurbanu untill her death... Also nurbanu is the founder of the sultanate of women said by all ottomam and venetian historians she's the 3rd most powerful after kosem and turhan
@@grandetristesse3370 Hurrem started the Sultanate of Women, not Nurbanu. Safiye was not loyal to Nurbanu either. Where are you getting your incorrect information from?
@@eurech y'all are pathetic it actually hurts... Hafsa first valide but not official one Nurbanu : first valide Sultana First woman to make valide Sultana a political position First women to be co-leader to the empire for 24 years during her husband and son reigns Most powerful & influential haseki One of the most powerful valide She is stated by historians she started the sultanate of women because she's the first to enter the power of ruling the state Hureem only achievement : marrying a sultan lmao
it's wrong the order of the most powerful sultan is as follows: Kosem sultan, Hurrem sultan, Safiye Sultan, Mirhimah sultan and finally....Nurbanu (I don't like the one in the series) your information is wrong because Nurbanu (in real life) being suspicious of safiye and constantly asking murad to take other concubines, she even started the rumor that safiye was using black magic etc...and threw safiye's servants into the biosphere or sent them away. safiye and nurbanu did not get al
@@grandetristesse3370 Sultanate of women is an era of women who had extraordinary power, not only beeing valide sultan. First ever Haseki, Hürrem Sultan started this era it and every another Haseki or Valide brought something new. Safiye wasn't loyal to Nurbanu, where did you get that? They hated eachother, Safiye was even exiled by Murad because Nurbanu's requested it.Ambassadors wrote, that Murad had to promise Nurbanu on her deathbed, that he will not make Safiye head of Harem (which was her right because Safiye was allready haseki sultan)
Nurbanu is talking about loyalty as if she herself was very loyal to Hurrem who is now expecting loyalty from Safiye? Safiye's coolness was very good here. Even at this age, she is behaving very maturely. Really impressive👏
@@beanentrepreneur1 nurbanu is the founder of the sultanate of women and is the first women to rule the state as co-regent... Hurrem is as weak as mahidevran lol
@@grandetristesse3370 hurrem payed the sultanate of women. Nurbanu start and safiye keep the fire. Kosem holds the power. Turbahar reign with the state and eventually ending the sultanate of women.
Nurbanu was loyal to her until she saw Hurrem's preference for Bayazid. Nurbanu was not going to allow her family to die, she was only loyal to her husband.
"You will lie at the bottom of the Bosphorus" The same threat, but different reaction Nurbanu: She was frightened and appealed to Sultan Hurrem Meanwhile Safiye: Her reaction seems casual. She wisely hid her fears in front of the enemy😍👑
The motivations for the threat were different, too: Hurrem had reason to do that because she wanted to protect her family. Nurbanu’s threat was unprovoked and made her look weak. The fact that a mere girl could make her feel intimidated just by being there.
This is really inspirational . When someone with power and influence guide an inexperienced human, that human become smart, patient, ambitious. That's Safiye's case.
1:35 look how threatened and scared Nurbanu is, she was raising her voice and sweating with fear, as Safiye Sultana remained calm and relaxed, because Safiye was ten times smarter than Nurbanu could ever be! 😃😃
Historically speaking... Nurbanu is the founder of the sultanate of women and she's the first women to rule as coregent, safiye stayed loyal to her until her death and hurrem never was a recent nor valide sultan 💀

3:15 When the future Sultan come Everyone is bow head to Selim Meanwhile, Mihrimah be like: The way she looked down on Selim as if his power and position was meaningless
@@NandeniTiwari yes, when Rustem pasha died, The sultan asked Mihrimah to move back the crown palace, where she was in charge of his harem , since Hurrem sultan passed away, she occupied her room and position besides that she was the sultan’s favorite child
I find it amazing how these girls all knowingly choose their predisessors. Hurrem choose Mirhimah to be her substitue and choose Nurbanu to be the next Hurrem, Mirhimah choose Safiye, and Safiye choose Kosem. Each girl almost distroying their elder yet it's like they knew it would happen eventually. (ofc Nurbanu never toppled Hurrem) it's spectacular planning. Plus the way they set up Kosem's story with Safiye insted of Nurbanu actually makes tons of sence. Do wish we could see more Nurbanu though, she's honestly my second favorite Sultanate of Women. 1. Hurrem 2. Nurbanu 3. Kosem
@@kassyqueen8089 No, she does not have to, because she's the eldest. She gets to chose whether to bow or not. Plus, she made it clear to Selim that in her eyes, he is a fraticide. So why should she bow? She has the rights to not bow.
3:48 👑His Majesty watched the entire departure unfold, ROFL‼️‼️‼️‼️❕❕❕❕❗❗❗❗😸😺😹😆 I'm glad Shehzade Selim paused, briefly, then continued walking. Mirihimah Sultana was also just as guilty with helping execute Mustafa. 😳🥺 • YIKES • 😳🥺
Maise- yes she did ? You dimwits just hate hearing the truth . She did evil things as typical of her kind & Nurbana only improved on it . That’s what happens when you have a serpentine spirit🤫🤣😂
Miray- she did evil not on the scale of Nurbana because they fought for different power plays . But why are you lot mad . She only improved on Hurrem’s evil ways . I guess you do t comprehend English grammar . Hurrem was evil after a point . Nurbana simply improved on it 🤣😂
Honestly, she didn't even need to do this at all. Nurbanu eventually became Valide and Murad was still loyal to her over Safiye, she had nothing to worry about.
Murad shifted all loyalty and love to Safiye. Even Selim chose other concubines. The only thing Nurbanu had was Valide Sultan title, she never had any power! 😆😆
I watch nurbanu that when hurrem wants to kick out him and then how she daced her by saying that if you dare to do with me then I will expose you that you were involved in the death of valaria❤
Who knew the same safiye would become the most cruel sultana in the future in the reign of sultan Ahmed Khan! She's the same safiye in magnificent century kosem!
Poor Safiya Sultan, she doesn't know what awaits her. Rivals like Shams-e-Rukhsar Sultan, Nazparwar Sultan, Zerefshan Sultan, and Sarfaraz Sultan. Not to mention, Meharban, Shah-e-khuban, and Fakhria khatoon. Oh, woe to you Safiya.
When Selim become sultan yanisaries stoped him and they demendad money from him, Selim didin't have the money beacuse he wasen't even in capital so he asked Mihrimah and she gave him the money. Selim thanked his sister and he made her head of the Old palace harem( old palace was important). Fun fact Mihrimah and Nurbanu together with their dauthers freed two Turkish woman from captivity
It ain’t fair Mustafa should have the throne and Mustafa was suleymans 1st son what a shame suleyman choose a drunk man for the throne Mustafa deserved the throne not that drunk bad guy
Nurbanu seems scared here, but she had a very powerful reign after her husband took the throne, and she reached to the top when her son took the throne. Safiye wasn’t known until Nurbanu’s death.
So much hate on Nurbanu while she is very great. Obviously Hurrem's fans doesn't know how to detach themselves enough from their idol to admit that Nurbanu won the battle and by the way even if she is suspicious on Safiye, I see no fear on her face.
@Dreamfyre2 Who cares how Nurbanu came to power. Even if your dear Hurrem is dead, if Nurbanu wasn't intelligent, she wouldn't have achieved anything. In the same way that when Nurbanu dies, Safiye also gets full power and so on. As for the rest, Nurbanu is just suspicious, and it's to her credit that she spotted the poisoned gift from the start. All I see is mistrust and she is right.
@Dreamfyre2 Do you know what panic is ? Obviously not 🤣. By the way I aint worship Nurbanu, I'm a normal viewer who doesn't follow the herd of "crazy Hurrem fans" who jump at the slightest opportunity to criticise or see things that don't exist in the characters who stand against her.
@Dreamfyre you don't even know what a normal fan is because you're a crazy one. Don't try to be manipulative with your long ans useless speeches you are just confirming what I think about u
No :D Nurbanu became valide sultan, she was powerful enough to choose who’s gonna take the throne after her husband’s death. She kept everyone quiet about her husband’s death until her son come to the city. She is the first (and I guess the only) women to be buried in the emperor’s tomb. She maintained peace with Venice and France. Ambassadors mentioned her as a powerful queen in their letters. She died naturally when she get old. The emperor himself joined her funurel and carried her coffin. Safiye’s name wasn’t even known before her death.
Idk why all sultans were so scared of the concubines when they could easily kill them for example hurram could easily kill nurbanu with her own hands and nobody could stop her since she was a queen but she just leave her alone to do what she wants
She was evill and desperate. She killed infants of Selim from other women and also had constant war with Safiye. When Selim died she kept him in ice box for days waiting for Murad to arrive to palace. In series Nurbanu is even better than real nurbanu.
