haha, I really enjoyed how the passenger who seems to be the designated instructor for the first couple laps started to give instructions, then gave up after the 3 corner :) The Golf 2 glued on your ass on the main straight was impressive too... (Flavien Vidal)
+traxnada Haha, he was a buddy who remarked on the fact that a flying start under the bridge saves like 5 seconds (It's actually 2 sec as you can see on lap 2 :))
awesome. Totally awesome. that elevation drop must torture the brakes at around 3:30 I think (lap timer). Not many tracks where you can get your car up to 230 kmh at 3 different spots! Fun to watch. Car looked and sounded excellent.
+sakimano Thanks man. Some parts are very hard on the brakes particularly with sticky tires. But overall it's not as bad as it could be because there are considerable straights in between braking zones and the high speeds give pretty good cooling. Still, I put brand new brake discs on and after 8 laps (not counting 2 very slow exploration laps) they are showing pretty obvious heat crazing on the surface. Not sure how long they will hold up, they may be ready for the bin after another trip to the track. Fracturing a brake disc on track is worst case scenario.
I know I am very late but I just wanted to ask...is the so called understeer caused by bad tyres because in this case with the Michelins the car seemed quite neutral P.S- Great driving
Thanks - an RS4 isn't that badly understeered and the cup2 tires do help. In any case understeer shows up mostly in very tight corners, and for the rest it's a case of simply not entering a corner faster than the front of the car can handle. There is a lot of weight over the front axle so if you push it too hard it will always tend to understeer. It's just not hard to avoid it.
I used continental contact 6 .... killed the fronts way too much understeer ... was thinking 888r but they only do them in 265 or 245 ... I'm getting lots of tyre screaching. .. have you done anything to the front end . I'm on kwv3
als de ring eenmaal in je hoofd zit gaat ie er niet meer uitheel mooi gereden al zou ik niet de kerbs meenemen want brengt de auto uit balans en kost je ophangingklinkt grandioos bij de w
OK thanks. ... think I will try these tyres , thanks for the info , not many people track these ... tons of advice for m3s but the rs4 on track is a bit of a grey area ... thanks
+sakimano I guess it depends on the starting point and the state of the intake carbon wise. I don't think mine is over the power level claimed from the factory at this point. It was interesting to see the GPS speeds on the Ring (which is at a bit of altitude to be fair)
