Left a little brown on your seats, did you ? :D Anyways, if you hadn't clutched out, that would have been a point of no return. Clutching out helps the diff unlock, and allows a bit of control to be regained. Good recovery though. :) On a sidenote, add a little soap to the sprinkler fluid, tracks have a bunch of oil/fuel mixed into the dust on the track, which just sticks to the windscreen with a vengeance. Especially when it has just started to rain, it gets better after it has rained for a bit. Don't use brake degreaser though, it'll kill the wipers. And of course, replace the rubber every now and then too.
Grumpy ol' Boot Grumpy ol' Boot missing my gear and letting the revs drop is where i went wrong. So when i lifted the clutch the engine speed wasn't matched with everything else causing the back end/plates diff to lock up untill the engine revs caught up with the rest. But the main thing is we made it out the other side.
Yeah, clutching in, into a lower gear with low engine RPM's is almost like pulling the handbrake. The right thing to do there is to clutch out again as fast as possible, and counter steer for dear life, until you have it under control again. Which was basically what you did. :)
Hi paul the full engine spec is in the comment here. I used to run a straight cut tran x type 9 but i now run an rx8 6 speed box as they are much stronger. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kbTYLYZZ_8w.html
