A nurse is facing backlash for posting a TikTok of her crying after a patient died. In the video, the nurse is overwhelmed with emotion as she leans against the wall and removes her mask. However, many people who have seen the video on social media are calling her "self-promoting" and the video to be "cringe-worthy." Some health care workers even believe she went too far. The nurse has now deleted her TikTok account.

You're right, I absolutely agree. Back in the mid 90's, I did clerical work, working closely with physicians and nurses at a small medical facility. Back in those days there was much more professionalism in the work place and doctors and nurses were held to a higher standard. Today we see medical personnel choreographing twisting their butts around in the facilities they work at and filming it to post on social media. Sadly those types of things actually get applaud and go vital. The public should be repulsed by these adults acting like little teenagers and it should not be well recieved. Futhermore, the superiors should be strongly reprimanding that type of behavior on the job. Or perhaps even fire them.

I still remember the first patient I ever lost, and telling the family that she will be alright, she coded (unexpectedly) and couldn’t be resuscitated. When I found out, I was shocked. I put my phone down and didn’t even text the attending back because I was shocked. Truly shocked. My attending asked me if I was ok, and I remembered at that time I hadn’t even responded back. I was so shocked I couldn’t even process the emotions and then 30 minutes later I broke down in tears. You know what wasn’t on mind? Let me record myself. That idea has never crossed my mind even regardless of the amount of lives lost. This is not just cringey but also insincere. It’s staged and not a true reflection at all of what healthcare workers truly experience when a patient dies.

Thank you for the work you do. My Mom worked in nursing homes throughout my childhood into young adulthood. I know how hard those losses can be. When my Son was little, we would take him by to trick or treat, and so many of the patients knew who he was because my Mom got to know them, and them her. Heart of gold to work in that field.

I am also a RN (retired about 12 years). Lost patients during my career…. But the very last thing I would ever do … is make that about myself. This really bothers me that she felt like she needed to post this on social media for the world to see. If it has finally become to much .. ok, its time to leave and do something else, get help etc.. etc.. But posting this ..how does this help except to make it about her and get views ???

@@YuyaSakaki385 She was not trying to get views on TikTok from dancing. She was exploiting the fact that her patient died to guilt-trip users into giving her publicity. It is not a way of coping, it is a way to get attention. No decent person would do that to manage. Think before you type.

This is disturbing on so many levels. A breakdown is when you're overcome with emotion to the point where you can't focus on things like setting up a camera angle for a trashy social media skit. Crying for the camera is not a form of art. Its a form of deception. Being a nurse is a very serious profession. When women don't take it seriously because they're too consumed with internet clout, it makes a mockery of good nurses. She very well deserves to be dragged for this.

Yeah, as a nurse this really bothers me. Instead of focusing on the patients family and loved ones, and comforting them in this time, she's making Tiktok videos, being completely selfish and acting like this is all about her. It wasn't her family member that passed. Idk why she thought she needed to be the center of attention during a time like that. It's gross.
