Hello MB. ^^ This was before your time I think, but this song was made famous by Sandi Patty, an amazing soprano whose height of popularity was during the 80's.The song is considered one of her signature songs. It was written by Dottie Rambo, also well known in her own right during the 70's. Having grown up with Sandi patty's version, I do prefer hers. However, David did a fantastic job, and it was fitting that he do one of the most famous soprano, now made tenor, songs in Christian music history. The result, I think, is a bit apples and oranges, so it's fun to check out both! Maybe you will watch one of hers to see the history made here. There are any number of performances on youtube, dating from the 80's to the 2000's or so. Take care!

I have been there several times in the front row when he has done this song...there is only one person on the planet that can sing like this. His name is David Phelps. The best male vocalist in the world.

David is a legend in gospel music because he has worked hard on his vocal mastery. He was given a talent by the Lord to use to minister and he does exactly that. He is an incredible singer and man.

I am new to your site. I love your reaction to David. When he sings it 's like from God's mouth to our ears. Just in case, do you know Josh Grobin? How about Dimash, look for a song called SOS. He sang in a competition in China. All three of these guys are the best at what they do. Hard to pick a favorite, just love all three. I was never in to gospel or classical music but when God touches someone you have to listen.

You should listen to ALL of David’s Songs, of which there are MANY!! He is Truly Great and Humble at the same time!! My favorite singer for Years!! He Will Be SINGING in Heaven!! I have been to his concerts and he is genuinely a kind and loving man! After his Great Concerts he will stand for hours to talk to everyone in line who wants to rank to him and take pictures!! Such a Truly Sweet and Loving person!!
