Some nursing homes offer slightly less pay compared to private/government hospitals. If your priority is to move to Ireland, you can accept this job and change your job after 2 hours of employment with your current employer (nursing home), after obtaining Stamp4 status on your immigration card. @ambilymartin8598 most midwife's are trained/ specialized in Midwifery. This they are registered Midwives who can conduct delivery on their own. The scope of practice and responsibilities are slightly different from Asian countries. Also general nurses cannot practice as midwives, unless they have studied midwifery and practiced as midwives. You are signing a 2 years contract with your first employer to get Critical Skill Permit. You could change your employer after 2 years (once you get Stamp-4/ Permanent Residence Card). However, if you wish to change the employer before that, you could do so. You may need a valid reason for changing your current employer; as you need to furnish details of the same to apply for a new work permit ( the work permit issued initially under the contract with 1st employer will be cancelled). Also you may pay back all the benefits like: relocation allowance, registration fees, Aptitude test fee, flight ticket charges etc which were reimbursed on arrival by your 1st employer.
Yes, you can change your job after one year.. no need of staying 2 years .. but you should pay all your debts , which may include exam fee, work permit to your employer before leaving.. however, people would stay 2 years to get stamp 4 visa ..

1st step is to speak to their direct line manager (CNM), if it cannot be resolved at that level, they can approach CNM-3/ Assistant Director of Nursing. If nobody is helping them, next step is to escalate the complaint to hospital administration. If the employer couldn't help or rectify the issue, it needs to be reported to Work Place Relations Commission, Ireland. It can be done online. They must have a legally valid reason for cregistering a complaint with the government authority and should be able to prove it to them (that there is an issue: which was reported to the hospital administration and they couldn't find a solution).

They are trying to get the best nurses, who has excellent work experience and good language skills. It doesn't.ean that other won't get opportunities. GCC experience is a bonus, as they could adapt to new culture and situations faster than someone who never worked abroad.

All nursing homes are not the same. There are well managed Nursing Homes in Ireland. I know a lot of people who worked in nursing homes for many years . However, I cannot guarantee that the nursing home you apply for will be comparable to these standards, and there are hospitals that are understaffed with toxic work culture too. Don't worry about things that aren't in your control now. You could change your employer after 2 years when you receive Stamp 4 permit. Best wishes.
