LifeBridge Health launched a major recruitment campaign for experienced nurses to help bridge a gap in staffing. A myriad of issues that include the COVID-19 pandemic, rising patient acuity and early retirement of nurses, among other reasons, contributed to a shortage of nurses. Sinai Hospital will eventually have 200 nurses from countries around the world. The hospital in northwest Baltimore is using its simulation lab to train newly recruited nurses who are coming from Kenya, Taiwan, Jamaica, the Philippines, Korea and Nigeria, to name a few.

Make sure degree is legit. Nurses are being charged for false nursing documentation.😳

I wonder what they pay her an hour? There is not a nursing shortage. American nurses are tired of the bullshit.

They don't pay much...just more than they make n their country with the opportunity 2 stay & make money while they r here. I've seen many work PRN n other facilities 2 supplement their income once they realize the pay is trash. There is definitely a shortage. U have 2 factor n that 55% of nurses r baby boomers. Many of them r retiring...much of whom simply can't work the bedside due 2 physical restraints. There r nurses who still maintain their licenses, but r not physically equipped 2 do he job. Nurses who r quitting r definitely tired of the BS. It only makes the shortages worse. U also have 2 take n2 consideration not as many people r going n2 nursing like b4. Young people r doing other things & r not interested. The pay doesn't match the responsibility. The new young nurses aren't here 4 it. Then u have 2 factor n the shortage of instructors. My old school is down to 4 nursing instructors from having 10 when I was there n 2018.

I remember doing scholarship hours in the school of nursing at MTSU and how important it was for the program to recognize ethnic diversity in patient care. It’s amazing to see this coming to life, especially as the AACN continues to warn of the impact on our health system from the lack of licensed nurses.
