Thanks chief. These are the older model fans with the notch for the plug on the side. I had both a new one where they moved the notch to the corner. You save a ton of time.
Glad I found this video. It was exactly what I needed to see to replace mine. Unfortunately there was no home depots near me that had the c350bn. I used the c370bn and it fit perfectly.
Your description matches the fan I have - C-350C2 B; however, your product link points to a NuTone 696N A housing that is 8 x 7.25". My old metal plate with fan is only 8 x 7 1/8. The width of the new plate is 1/8" wider and couldn't fit. I had to bend one of the sides farthest from the plug opening further in by an 1/8" in to shorten it up. I picked the farthest side to ensure the plug hole and screw hole lined up, because they were the same distance from the closest side as my original housing.
Does this type of bathroom fan suck humid air out of the bathroom or does is push air down for circulation? I believe I have this type of fan in my apartment and I feel air being pushed down into the bathroom and the plastic vent covering often collects and blows lint and dust into the bathroom.
