NuTone IM3303 Intercom - Common Common Failure Mode #4 ??? - or is it?

This NuTone IM3303 Intercom Master Station was sent in by a customer for repair. It has been in this failed condition for 5 years.
It has a fairly straightforward age related problem - however it isn't (or hasn't been) a problem That I've seen before.
Is this the leading edge of upcoming common problem with the IM3303? Watch and see what I think

Bob Proby Chris, we talked last year and I followed your troubleshooting instructional video. I purchased my NuTone unit in 2004. I was able to isolate two of the six speakers that resulted in my “IC” problem. Besides the two speakers, the system is functioning very good. My next step is to fish the wires from the speakers to the main station to restore the system to its full capacity of speakers. Thanks for your assistance. Your videos are excellent!

My IM3303 was installed in 1995. So far, thankfully no issues.

Hi Jim: So far, I have only seen a few IM3303 have this problem. I suspect that it's more of a random failure that something that should be added to the list of the the 10 Most Common Things that go wrong with the IM3303 - Chris

I bought mine in 2000 and it is still working fine with the exception of the noisy potentiometers. Can you teach me a hack to make it play with Sonos, Alexa? LOL I'll keep your info in case I need repairs. Great video!

Hi Fabio: You don;t need to hack it - you can simply add an external Audio Jack and the use it to connect Alexa or some other device, which plays through the system. - Chris

The doorbell on my IM3303 rings constantly. Nonstop! It just started a couple of days ago. I've turned down all the remotes just so it wouldn't be so annoying. Also removed the exterior doorbell. Can you tell me how to stop it? Thank you!

I have NUTONE MODEL IM-2003 SERIES with 6-intercom installed back in 1992 and it is not working at all. Do you have any replacement for this model? If so let me if you do i will give you a call later. Thanks Frank

Hi WESTEL Audio: Initially yes - however due to the failure being long term - there were other components that needed to be replaced, some were quite burnt - Chris
