Absolutely. I use butter, so do my mum, mum in-law, and granny. Never seen it made with oil. I use 1cup of butter, but I make a HUGE batch. I also use different spices. But this one looks interesting as well.
You can substitute for butter but when to cools off butter hardens so may be a different texture? BUT , it would also have that buttery flavour. ,,, it's whatever preference you have. Thx for sharing.
