Nutty Lower Level AWBW Games: Atomicgoat Vs Rollerballz (Fog: Blackboat Confrontation v2) 

Today in Gorilla News: Advance Wars player acually uses a Carrier for Carrying units

Rollerballz here. I want to give some more context to the game by explaining the thought process behind some the bigger blunders in the match and just some additional commentary. Day 8: The T-copter picks up infantry instead of the black boat because the boat only had 15 fuel left and I didn't think it would have been able to make it back to port to refuel. Day9: Rocket unit. Its mission was to destroy the HQ black boat and I got lucky with a few kills along the way. The only reason I even considered attempting this stunt was because there were quite a few roads and shoals on the bottom part of the map which made it seem more viable. Also, I assumed tanks and other stuff would have had time to catch up to it. Day 15: Aircraft carrier. Since Goat was the first to build a fighter I guessed he would have eagerly followed up with another one after I got the first strike on his original one. Paranoia set in when I feared he would push, what appeared to be, his air superiority advantage (it was real in my mind) and it didn't seem as though reinforcements from my airport could make it there as quickly or in the quantity that I would have liked. Unfortunately, I didn't realize at the time that his new fighter went north and the aerial battle I was preparing for wasn't going to happen. Day 26: When he scouted out the AC with his APC he sent a message that had all the heart and soul of Solid Snake saying "Metal Gear!?! It can't be!" Day 29: Black Storm was on the way and I wasn't intentionally trying to bank more money by only building infantry. I was simply trying to reduce repair costs since the carrier and bomber maintenance were going to cost a lot. Looking back on the match, I noticed I could have also sheltered a fighter in the carrier on Day 16 too but for some reason I thought I needed to protect the carrier on all sides with a wall. Day 32: Cruiser. Paranoia again about airport spam from Goat. I wanted to protect my fighter and base lock like Deejus said while also destroying any b-copters that could threaten the HQ cap. We both sent messages afterwards congratulating each other for such a fun match. It truly was a blast to play this one. Thank you for casting it Deejus.

That was a wild game Carrier costs 30k to build, got repaired for 24k from the 4 hawke scop and 3 additionnal k from that copter hit near the end. It killed 2 copters (18k) and one 7hp fighter (14k), and saved 4k in value when carrying that fighter during the last hawke scop. If I don't miss anything, that's a 21k deficit, no gift card for him

I always like the spiral into insanity with these lower level games. This one was unpredictable.

Your wrong about Von Bolt's Super! His Super goes for the greatest value destroyed, which means a 4 HP Tank and a Tank with 10 HP have the same priority, and any unit with 1 HP is ignored outright. Von Bolt's Super only switches to the greatest concentration of Unit Value for the first tiebreaker, which I suffered from not too long ago.

The pond black boats are actually kinda useful, you can repair units that are healing on the city next to the pond. 2 turns to heal a 4 HP tank to full, or if you are rachel you can revive any ground unit in 2 turns max.

Watching AtomicGoat play is just like a car crash. It's painful to watch but at the same time very entertaining.

Always down for a nutty lower level replay. Saw the duration and knew this one was truly going to be special. The number of lulwut moves was just *chef's kiss*

Well sanctified excrement, it finally happened! My AWBW Replay Bingo is filled as someone ACTUALLY built a Cruiser! Now I've seen it all.

That game melted my fucking brain.

That remark about mid-level players having strong moves then acting like baboons at times: so damn accurate. I'm currently ~1200 in global league and there are times when I make a move in a game then immediately have to close the game to avoid the urge to surrender because I didn't see how bad the move was until after I made it. I once literally went from "you can't stop me from capping your hq" to "well, I lost" because I moved a unit to the wrong square.
