I really love these awdw games, your commentary is top tier among ANY reviewer of any game not just AW. Also love the low ladder games, really brings out the best of your comedy. Love you
I think Grit should have had this easily. All he needed to do was early cap both comm towers and arty lock them. Missile locking eagle's airporr would have been fun, too
@@ClumpyLemons lol I don't mind how he pronounced it (I have been going with Piper-re-pip myself or just piper works too) and we might have played once.
I think I'm a bit biased but this was one of the funniest replay commentaries I've seen lol. I do admit I made a lot of mistakes in this game lol Id like to think I've gotten better since this game (I think this game was along time go)
you were not rough at all I 100% agree with everything you said about me haha, If my memory is correct I was just starting out when this game was played (but again this game I think was from earlier in the summer so I can't remember much haha)
This Thavidu guy sure got much better since the video was made. He reached 1200 elo, and gave me a tough fight today. It's amazing how fast some players progress. Some of you guys (Deejus himself included) are fast learners.
Man I agree, these are some stally COs and Eagle probably outstalls Grit. He's practically getting double value out of non-infantry units during SCOP, so anything you let him build is like giving him two during a SCOP, and even worse, the SCOP can come out ridiculously fast when there's tons of value on the board. Grit ranged units are really good en masse but I don't think they beat a stalled up Eagle. Grit definitely loves smaller maps. The bigger the map, the harder it is to cover everything. If you can cover 50% of the map by building one rocket, that's damn good for Grit. Ranged units are an investment, they take setup time, and one of their biggest weaknesses is their mobility, and they are forced to move a hell of a lot more on a big map. Kind of a lot of "see it, do it" moves in this one. You probably don't want to attack stuff or move somewhere just because it's there and just because you can. Especially in fog. Think if it's worth it and what's going to happen. And this is doubly important for Eagle whose main priority should be conserving his units as much as possible for the SCOP. The two bcopters who rushed that artillery would have gotten 4 attacks off during a SCOP. In the end, blue went for the base stomp and it didn't work. Pink went for the HQ cap which was much easier especially with a ball of Grit artillery.
Can we just appreciate that Turn 16 artillery bastion from Piperrepip? Two medium tanks and an anti air got the Arty safe and sound, and it was still in range to fire on the HQ to prevent a cap
As a Grit main, I can confirm Grit vs Eagle is one of the best match ups to play. No one seems to have a strong advantage over the other it forces Grit to take the initiative instead of sitting back and relaxing with an artillery wall. Imo Eagle might be the most interesting match up for Grit, other than maybe Javier T1 Great commentary overall. Piperrepip really redeemed himself in the last turn with the perfect hq cap!
Hey Deejus, thanks again for the replays as always! Are you okay with people sending you AWBW games? If so, where should we send them? It would be cool for you too look over one of mine sometime so I could learn how to become a better player.
Hey man, I typically don't review games privately since I already get so many. You can still send them to deejusproductions@gmail.com if you think it's entertaining though!
Really depends on the amount of properties- on a map like this definitely more valuable than 1 city, however it only comes into play after like turn 10, so capturing early makes no sense unless you plan to hold it long term. It's less important than unit count, income and unit value
Fun game for sure. [Spoiler] I think Eagle lost because he misused the lightning strike by charging into a heavily fortified area that he couldn't break through. If Eagle had used that lightning strike to front shift from the left to the center he could have completely base locked grit and surrounded the army on the right side. That being said, it is easy to talk about what a player should have done when I have perfect vision in a fog match. I think it also came down to wasting too many battle copters.
