Hey! Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT & SHARE! This is one of my favourite videos I've created recently so it would be brilliant if you could follow me on my next adventure! I'm looking forward to reading all your comments below 👇 Also, you can check out my blog post packed full of the best things to do in Nuuk here - www.anadventurousworld.com/big-city-small-town-nuuk-greenland/
wow, how beautiful it is. I just wonder if it's allowed to immigrate there by your government. I wanna escape from my current living place, where is extremely crowded
What an amazing place! I've been fascinated with Greenland for over two years now, and I'm so glad that there are RU-vid videos popping up about it. There weren't that many not too long ago. Thanks so much!!!
That's great to hear, and you should definitely go! Our Greenland series is probably our favourite to date - it was such an incredible country to film in!
I agree thought i would travel there one day . .bet the fishing is great there . In South Greenland there actually growing vegetables out in the open I couldn't believe it
Thank you! Greenlandic homes are really interesting on the inside too. Very rustic, very old fashioned. You kinda get a view inside one in our Qaqortoq episode - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t0o99weEs0I.html
First time watching your series, I really like these two co-hosts. They add just the right amount of humour and personality to this video. (edit) Beautifully shot as well!
Very glad to see you’ve visited my town (Nuuk) and birthplace (Qaqortoq, meaning White), and gave it a very good review! Glad younmade before the pandemic too!
That's really great to hear Ismail! It really is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and one you have to experience for yourself. If you ever make it over there make sure you let me know what you think of it!
So i really enjoyed your Nuuk video and now i'm set on going there, AFTER this pandemic is over...would have to get there and have to use a mask everywhere i go.... thanks for sharing your Nuuk adventure.
@@lizziebinx1351 haven’t gone yet because California is finally opening up tomorrow 💯. So I have plans to be in Greenland later this year When are you planning on going ? Do you live in Cali ?
Thank you so much! That's exactly what we're trying to do. We want to showcase how beautiful Greenland is, and this is just a small snippet of its beauty. We really hope you get to go there one day!
I'm so glad i found your channel, i am a solo traveller and was planning to go to iceland and Greenland but was so scared to go there alone but your video gave me a confidence boost 😊
That's so great to hear! Iceland and Greenland are amazing places to travel, and they're great for solo travellers too. We've no doubt you'll lots of people and have the best time ever!
I was born in South America but somehow always felt a connection with this place. I don't know where I got the name from or how I even know of it's existence but I want to go there one day, it would be a dream come true.
After the states made a mess with thule airbase and the cover up after. I think they made it to hard for them self to make a commercial rute with out some kind of appoligy. The reason why airplanes go from dk is because greenland is under the danish kingdom Iceland also used to be a part of denmark like greenland is now So it makes a vit of sense And most countrys would not be able to get 1 seat booked on the airplain Half of the people that travel to greenland are born on greenland And there is nowhere to locate people from from all over eu and the states if they started to book that many tickets 😂 Perhaps a cruseship is a better solution for most people That part of europe should actually be also be seen comming from the sea The seaway to oslo is also beatyfull and something most people remember for a life time. China and other countrys does offer cruseships going to greenland for example And a chineese company have just made a offer on working builiding the new airport on greenland So perhaps they have idea behind that offer The prime minister from denmark have warned greenland about taking the offer insted of using local workers Remember this is some of the most fragile parts of the world And going there does involve destrying a part of it also Both the culture and the nature Denmark have done alot of damege on the culture over time (and also helped the country) but this used to be people living like eskimos few years ago And alot of them have had a hard time adopting to our world and culture Like abriginals or the native american tribes
lol. in many places in greenland they use a bucket for toilet and put it outside :-) who comes for the streets unless you live there with all that nature you would have to be a complete idiot to spend you time on looking at garbage on the street
I'm in love with both the video and the girl! 😍😂 Great work guys, I'm not used to commenting videos, but when they deserve it, I really enjoy doing so. Keep on! Btw, Nuuk looks like the perfect city to live in if you like to explore beautiful landscapes and discover new cultures
Yeah, most people speak Greenlandic and Danish. They're brought up on both languages, but they'll use Greenlandic as much as possible. And a few people speak English - most people in the service industry, and pretty much all Danes who have settled in Greenland, but the actual native Greenlandics not so much.
Beautiful video guys, great job! I am about to visit Greenland, do you have any suggestions on whether to bring a drone or a dslr? (I only have the option to bring one, they're too heavy for hiking)
That's great to hear! You're going to have such an amazing time there! We brought both but can appreciate they're heavy to lug around! We'd say take your dlsr - you'll be able to do more with it!
I had to pause at 5:34 because I couldn't believe my eyes. How cold was the water? Great video, I enjoyed it very much. I hope one day I will be able to see Greenland with my own eyes.
Thank you! The water is about 2 degrees Centigrade. It's cold. From what we've been told, if you fell in at that temperature you have only a couple minutes before it becomes a problem. Also, we should mention in one of the upcoming episodes, Macca dunks himself in the water - so you can see his reaction then!
Thank you! There aren't many restaurants or cafes in Nuuk at all so it's always a good idea having another one. We can't remember if any of them specifically sold pizza or not, but everybody loves pizza!
Liked and subscribed :) thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with us all! I just got back from Lapland Finland and thinking to go further (Greenland) next time. What time of year did you go and what was the weather like? Also, would you reccommend 1 week out there will be long enough? Thanks again!
Ah, we can imagine Lapland would be so stunning. What a beautiful part of Finland to travel to! We went to Greenland in June for a couple of weeks and the weather was amazing. Very bright and sunny, and obviously the sun never set! I'd say the summer months are better than the winter months purely because you can do a lot more. And yes, you could do a lot in a week, but it's an amazing country and we always recommend longer!
Great video guys. I was randomly curious about Nuuk and you guys were amongst the only vlogs :) Was it very expensive when you were there.. I was in Iceland before and man it was $$$.
Thank you, we appreciate that! In one word, yes, it was very expensive. It's like Iceland and then so. Obviously a lot of goods have to be imported here, so that's one of the reasons why the cost of living is so high, but if there's one thing we can assure you it's that every cent is worth it!
Mike Christiaan We were there in June and it was actually incredibly warm the first day we got there! It then cooled off to around 5-10 Celsius and the wind is always icy cold so we dressed in layers and that way we could peel off layers or bundle up as needed!
you guys are inspiring. May i ask when you guys traveled for this video. im planning my trip to greenland from australia and im trying to find out when the best time to go is. Thanks guy.
Thank you so much, that means so much! We travelled to Nuuk and Greenland for a couple of weeks in June this year, which is probably the best month to go. We were extremely lucky and arrived on the hottest day of the year EVER - 24 degrees!
My advice - take all the warm clothes you can pack and wear! We were in multiple layers in the height of summer so I'd expect it to be pretty cold right about now!
I was surprised that the place is very colorful. Its very gray, dry when you look at this on googlemap. hahaha I was just curious how the greenland capital looks like I was expecting some "doofenshmirtz childhood village" thing. hehehe
I'M SO INLOVE OF NUUK....AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT I'M FROM PUERTO RICO...IT'S SO PEACEFUL, SO BEATIFUL, SO RELAXING....THAT IS INCREDIBLE. THE PERFECT PLACE FOR A RETIRED WOMAN LIKE ME...62 YRS. OLD...WHAT ELSE I CAN ASK...
Can you please tell me how you got there from which country? I would really want to visit there someday. And also, what camera do you use to take those amazing shots?
You can fly to Nuuk from Copenhagen in Denmark or from Reykjavik in Iceland. At the moment they're the only to places that fly out Greeland (unless you charter your own place of course!) And this was all filmed on the Canon C300 with a number of different lenses! Hope that helps!
