I just bought one of these as I feel the need to go back to my analog pedals but I play live going DI and this allows me to use my pedals , keep amp modelers and go DI. Perfect solution .

There are two channels, each channel has 3 on board amp models for you to switch. Also there are additional 3 more amps you can use via the software. Totally 12 amp models inside.
You can turn the IR signal off, there's a switch next to the input jack. So it can be used like a distortion pedal for sure. The scene function can toggle different effect blocks on/off.
You can but that’s not the intended purpose of this pedal. You’d be better off buying a distortion pedal for your amp or a two in one. If you want multiple distortion/overdrive/boost features look into the nux drive force.
Hi Jimmy, just 2 quick questions if you have time: 1) I've got a Nux Cerberus, which is the best match for it between the Nux Solid Studio and the amp academy (I go diret to a FRFR speaker)? 2) I can't figure out the midi capability of the Amp Academy, how is it possible to connect it to a midi controller? If i'm putting this pedal at the end of the pedal chain of my pedal board, is that going to sound bad with the modulator effects(chorus/flanger etc) that are before it?
I suggest you try them on your amp first, to see if they sound better in front or in the loop. In my case, I put all the delay, reverb, and MOD effects after the amp section. But, keep in mind, if you do that on the NGS-6, You'll lose the headphone, aux input, DI output functions.
@@jimmyrocks43 I would be using it with an frfr speaker, I'm not worried about headphones or di. Just didn't want to mess up the sound putting effects out of order

Thank you for the Presets, but they don't seem to have any effect when I load them into the Amp Academy, I click on the download arrow, select the file then nothing happens. is there something I'm missing
Great demo! Is it possible to bypass the preamp sims and run a real guitar preamp into the return, then just use the pedal only for IR and serve as an interface?
