It's time for a new adventure! After having trekked through many of these games time and time again, I wanted to have one final ultimate challenge in the vanilla mainline Pokemon franchise... Can I beat, every SINGLE Pokemon game in chronological order in a hardcore nuzlocke setting, and without reusing a single Pokemon in any other game? For instance, if I use Bulbasaur in Red version, I won't be able to use it in Blue, Yellow, Firered, or any other game. Come along on this journey with me and find the struggles, the cuts, the innovations, the strategies, and the potential laughs along the way.

Rules of the challenge:
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch one Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

I'm literally replaying this now and I've been soloing the whole game with and overleveled Inteleon. Took down the "strong looking Onix" in the wild area and never looked back

They used ONE animation of Hau for Hop. I wish people would stop making a mountain out of a molehill over this. Also, they traded in the third game for dlc which is better than making people get another version.

Not saying it isn't annoying and unlucky, but it's wild to me how upset you get about statuses when you set up way higher than you need to in order to OTK Pokemon to begin with, especially when you are neither under levelled or playing Gen 1. People can literally snipe Dynamaxes with STAB moves from your starter even with only one buff. Feels like you're overcompensating sometimes.

Also...why are you surprised when the Neutral Damage STAB move doesn't nuke the Dynamax when you could be using Weakness STAB. At that point you really are just addicted to set ups rather than worrying about difficulty.

and abuses mechanics like changing the date on your switch for infinite raid dens. Pretty dumb to complain about how easy the game is when you abuse what is essentially a glitch to make the game even easier.

I suspect that a lot of the self-deprecating humour since I know Meatball has commented that he's already so deeply burnt out on these games since starting the challenge (FAIR). All the same, it does feel a bit strange to talk about how easy a game is when you're trying to show off by doing a challenge run of it. It does get a bit grating sometimes hearing about how hard he's trying to no-braincell everything, while then blaming the game when it doesn't all go his way. If I were offering constructive criticism it would probably be 'big up yourself or big up the game' - when there's a lot of time spent deprecating both, I don't feel like I'm cheering for either of them. Again, I do get the impression that a lot of it comes from fatigue with the games themselves, which is pretty understandable to be fair. It's certainly a challenge that takes some stamina.

@davidezell923 I know a lot of Nuzlockers who do them for content will justify stuff like that by saying they "could" do it normally but it'd take weeks. I'm a big fan of not EV training, which is why I like watching people do nuzlockes of romhacks that disable that feature.

To be fair to Sword / Shield, the time skip exploit is just that, an exploit. So the devs didnt think you'd normally wait literal weeks (normally) to get enough watts to get the good TRs before the first gym.

@@ShinyUmbreon106yeah sword and shield are easy games. I don't feel likes that's always a bad thing, they are more geared toward smaller children after all. That being said though SwSh are *extremely* easy. I beat the "elite four" and champion over 20 levels below their teams. It certainly helps that you basically don't have to worry about multiple battles since you get breaks, heals, etc in between.

52:20 A word of advice, The affection mechanic works differently in SwSh compared to Let's Go. Now that it's one singular mechanic with friendship, the devs put a cap on it-you'll only be able to get just enough friendship to evolve pokemon via normal friendship-raising methods, and you won't start getting the broken mechanics of affection without playing/cooking with your pokemon in camp (or picnics, as it's the same case in S/V.) However, this cap does not exist in BDSP, so expect affection to go crazy there!

Just passed the "no excuse to not have the National Dex" part and maaaan people are still complaining about this? The games are better for not having the whole dex. Balancing movesets and encounters with over 900 Pokemon would have been AWFUL i would never curse anyone with that.

I'm not sure I would say sword, shield, scarlet and violet are some of the easiest games in the series yeah they both have their easy moments but they also have some brutal fights like Leon, nemona, iono, are pretty difficult especially compared to let's go, fire red leaf green, and x and y. Are the newer games easier cause learn sets are better as well as a bunch of other things, yes, but I'm not sure that makes them the easiest.

This series is amazing. Our play styles are so different and I love seeing it. I don’t think I’ve ever really focused on setting up to sweep. I myself have never thought that 10 to 15 turn setups were fun to do when my teams can handle stuff fine, but I also imagine it’s the best option in a nuzlocke setting so it makes sense. I guess I’m saying I’m entertained while also being educated

Much prefer a 400 cap over having to catch the entire 1000+ Pokémon if I want to fully go for completion. Besides, 1000+ Pokémon would make a LOT of rare encounters... Or a million different routes. Not to mention not everyone likes challenge runs. Some of us are just casual Pokémon fans. 😅
